The players have a lot to answer for. This has to be a lot better performance from the embarrassments we have seen lately.
Hopefully the fact a new man is coming in will wake them up a bit.
I agree with you and ill go for a nervy 1-0 win.
So, after the week that's just been, surely it can't get worse, can it?
We're 2 losses away from 3rd last (superior goal difference keeps us from 2nd last). We're only 1 win away from 6th. Athlone seem a bit rejuvenated of late and have started to get their act together. They seem capable of getting results and will be desperate to pick up a win here.
We really shouldn't lose or draw this game, but nothing surprises me this season.
I'm going to go for a cautious 1 - 0 win.
expectations? Predictions?

Hopefully the lads will pull out a performance now that the supposed 'bluffer' is gone, but the signs from Athlone seem to indicate they'll make it tough for them.
Also, on a side note: I haven't been around for most of this season so I've been relying on extratime.ie and the like, but what's the story with Michael Leahy? Seems to be on the bench every week.
It has become painfully clear that our position in the table is in no way indicative of how much effort Limerick's squad are willing to make. Good Lord.

Thought it'd be a tough game, didn't expect 3 0 though.
Anyone at it? Seemed a poor enough team we put out.
I'm convinced whoever does take over this team in the next week or two will have little chance to really change the squad that much. So he'll have to be a hell of a motivator. You're gonna need to get 10 points at the very least over the next 15 games to avoid trouble, preferably more.

No doubt there is a big job on someone's hands. Tommy is in a no lose situation as things are, but ideally you'd want someone who is the long term option. I would be worried that ht new manager won't have enough time to put together his squad so it'll be as things are til the end of the season. We should have enough to stay up, but I wouldn't fancy us in a relegation fight.
Just looking at some comparative stats:
At this point, we've played 18 games, we have 20 points (5 wins, 5 draws and 8 losses), with 18 goals scored and 22 conceded.
At this point last season, after 18 games, we had 22 points (5 wins, 7 draws and 6 defeats), with 23 goals scored and 22 conceded.
So, we're not really that far off from last season: five less goals means two points down. We've slipped a small bit. But its important to remember, bar the final season game, we finished quite strongly in 2013, which might have skewed things a little. No guarantee the same thing will happen again.

An absolute joke of a performance carried out by a pack of absolute jokers.
Theres some people stealing a living off of Pat O'Sullivan.
This team has no spine in both senses of the word.
Theres money there.
Get in an experienced manager and get them in now. A few more reckonings need to come before the windows over.
Prob one of the worst limerick teams ive ever seen. Gutless spinless useless. Religation nailed on with this shower. Could have been 7 or 8 nil to an organized athlone team.
What was line up.

I dont see why not.But would a Taylor side have folded 3-0 to Athlone tonight do you think ?
Taylor was held as the scapegoat by a lot of people on here this result proves we don't have a team good enough , we can barely put out a decent first 11 and after that it's a massive struggle. We're focusing on building an empire in Bruff when at the end of last season they should have built on a good 1st season back in premier. We'll end up with Martin Russell who done ok at ucd but that's our level just like what has happened with the squad cheap is best and hopefully it will do a job some of the decisions made since last season just don't add up what an absolute disaster it would be to end up back in the first division
Taylor assembled that squad.
He was naive to put his faith in them and it cost him his job.
