    Shannon Olympic 3-1 Hibs
Olympic - Pricey-BJ Duggan Alex Dean Power - Jamie Egan Ray Brian Ryan - Garry Higgins Gary leahy.
Hibs - Mark Long - Cathal McCoy Finbar D.Devanney Monk - Darren Gav Daragh Leahy Jack Kelly - Davy wall and Rasher
Olympic went 3-0 through Garry higs, leahy and an OG, hibs got 1 back by Daragh Leahy and hibs were on top last 10-15 very unlucky not to get another, Probably felt a little hard done by the decisions with bunny taking a hurl of abuse but that's football. IMO Olympic still deserved the win. On to the Final now against Shannon Town A (I assume) as im told they were winning 3-1. Any final reports on that game?

As for the so called younger lads it's up to them to get themselves into the side by putting IN the hard work & effort both on & off the pitch. They shouldn't start just because they are young. They should deserved to start because they are playing well & the same goes for everyone else in the squad. That's how it works & how it should work IMO. As for Tino i don't know the lad or what he has discussed with BD so i can't comment on that. As for Brian he has told me he is not going to Galway. Being his uncle I've had some chats with him i personally think he should't go to Galway something i have told him already. Now as for the starting times for the games. It's a Shannon Town tournament & if i was the manager i'd make sure games were played at times that suited my team. I'm sure if the tournament was ran by Rineanna,Hibs or Olympic they would do the same. Also none of the other clubs have contacted the club to have games changed.
Ger, great to see you at nearly 40 (later this year) getting into the Town A team on merit. It shows that with effort, dedication, quality and looking after oneself that you can have a good long career in football. Not sure what your goal is but maybe you are the new Jimmy Rocks

However, I bet you are extremely happy to be playing at the same level as the LOI19's seeing that you think it would be a side step for the two boys if they stayed with Shannon town. Seriously you can't really believe that. You went to Limerick at an early age under Noel King and gave it a shot and maybe your memories are not as fond as you would have liked, but I bet you are glad you gave it a go and tried to play at the highest level. You did go on to pay for Fairview which again I am sure you would see as a step up from Shannon town (or else you would not have done so) so maybe it would be best for the lads development to go play at a higher, more , professional level. If they don't succeed they don't succeed. however would be horrible for a club to try hold onto them , because they make their team shine, when they should be pushing them onto bigger and better things. ps: not saying you are doing that, but I have seen clubs being selfish....

anyway what will be will be I suppose, any result to the town game?

Ha ha Two Feet Up. Jimmy Rocks is a legend in Shannon Football but i certainly won't be playing as long as Jimmy did
Seriously i hope that if these lads are good enough to play at that level then they should but what i'm saying is if brian is not happy in Galway, well then don't go. I will always encourage any player to play at the highest level that they can. Back when i played LOI we only had a 1st team with a small panel of players & no under 19's or 21 set up. Things went well for me under Billy Kinnane & not so well under Noel King. That was my fault cause i stop working as hard as i did to get there & didn't work hard enough to stay there. My time with Fairview was great & i really enjoyed it there something that i certainly not forget. Brian has not been put under any pressure to sign for Shannon Town & i certainly never asked him to sign. If he or any other player decide to go into town to play premier i would only advise him only to sign for any of the top 4/5 sides. I'm not happy that he is back playing Junior football but i sure if he did sign BD would give him some good advice & with his contacts in football help him to move on to pastures greener.

Results as expected last night to be fair.
Hibs battled back near the end and could have had 2 goals (should have had really), but Olympic were much better overall.
Town B gave a good account of themselves, very unlucky with the blocked first goal and did well to keep the score at 3-1 come the end of the game.

Didn't Shannon Town stop Tino going to play with Hibs last year in the WW because of his Loi involvement/connection - what's so different this year ? What a difference a year makes - Looks like they can change/bend the rules to suit themselves

Ha Ha not at all - I think they are a very good club

I'm just stating what I heard and pointing out some questionable items with their us of the rules, it's only a pre-season tournament, but regardless of who runs it, it should be run fairly.

It's a shannon town tournament... If they wanted to do a five a side on the astro turf that's their prerogative.

I wouldn't believe anything you "hear" in relation to soccer in shannon. If your not in the dressing room you don't have a clue what goes on.

So lev what your saying is because it is town tournament they can do what they like >> referee for Tournament confirmed rule of once player played for team or named on match card he was part of that squad ?? Looks like tino olympic - town a is against the rules

Lev, Sorry I should be clearer, I know for a fact that Tino was barred / stopped / not allowed (whatever you want to call it) to play for Hibs last year because of his LOI connection. Hibs were told the would be disqualified. This is a fact.

Tino is the same this year, however he is allowed to play for Shannon Town - are you saying that because it's Shannon Town's tournament, then they can do whatever they want with the rules in order to suit themselves ? I'm sure they can run the tournament in whatever format they choose, but they should be consistent with the rules and not change them for their benefit.

Gerry, normaly comes on and gives the correct information. Will be interesting to see what went on last year and this year as he should be in the know. Also wondering if he has played for somebody else in the earlier rounds does that nullify the Town A team and means their B team progress to the Final?

Park went to a final years ago when it was an end of season tournament, when newtown fielded a player that was signed with park. Park went on and won the final

Well Tino was togged for Olympic vs Rineanna, and yes he wasnt allowed to play last year because of the LOI connection. Don't know what rules are in place for that (or if there is any) but If rules were in place in past years then they shouldnt be changed regardless of who runs the tournament. Fair enough about using times to suit your team as it is ST tournament.

why did referee then say player had to play or be named on match card to be cup tied as you call it... I Would imagine referee would have been told of rules by town ?
