Excellent report Alan, i thought all four starting wingers were v poor. I think boros squad is better so I would make them slight favourites.

    Agreed on all counts.

Boro's bench having a kick around at half-time last night was a sight to behold - O'Mara, Sheedy, Lyons, Lynch, Donnan, Brazier, Nunan, Healy, McMarlow, John Ryan.

Massive squad. The majority of those lads would get on most of the other sides' starting elevens comfortably. Amazing how they can all be kept happy.

Also have McGarry and Keane but i think they missed the boat the other night.Pike will win league now and my reasoning being is they know how to win it unlike Boro or the rest and out of those wingers id pick Hanrahan all day every day ahead of the rest.

That aisling result puts a dent into that theory, and having seen Pikes nervy win over moyross could be more dents yet.

That Aisling/Pike result has been coming. Pike have struggled to cobble together an eleven on more than one occasion this season. Today they finally got punished for it.

And Aisling are a well coached, well organised side, with some nice young players. A victory like this was always on the horizon. They've had some misfortune in more than one game over the last couple of months.

I was saying from before the halfway point of the season that I thought that Carew's away results against the stronger sides in the first eleven games would stand to them. I was pretty much alone in that! On Thursday night, they could go a long way towards proving me right. Janesboro will miss Waters and Hogan through suspension, but that could be spun as a positive. Nunan deserves his chance and Brazier has been excellent.

    Should be a cracker.

Agree about thurs night.Looking at Pike team that lined out against Aishling they should have had enough to beat a team struggling at the bottom all season imo.

Super report AOB ,great to get quality reports when one can,t make big games like this one.huge win for Pike, very interesting to see respective lineouts and how they shaped up.Boro will probably will league but overall with the squad they have you would have expected more.Pike could salvage season with this cup, disappointing season for them, time for Regional to step up to the plate.

  17. Thanks From:
