“The decision was taken under the guidance of JFA President HRH Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein, who was trusted by the JFA Executive Board to choose the suitable candidate for the Jordan National Team’s coaching post due to his great vision in leading Jordanian Football towards success.”

That Jordanian FA uses the same PR agency as the FAI.

as some wag on thescore.ie says, it's not the first time Jordan has taken on two footballers together.

Why does everything always have to be a garish green? There are two other colors in the flag.

the orange is barely used by the FAI, ever, and white is used sparingly in the home kit, which is reflected in the design of the site

bit surprised at McCarthy's name being included, he's in Palace's 25 man squad for the Premier League

Anyone know if he's still eligible?
Have to imagine if he was with Wolves he'd have been involved more than that?
Cieron has been called into the U19 squad for tonight's friendly against the Dutch: http://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/irela...laght-friendly
Notts County defender Cieron Keane has been drafted into the squad in place of Dylan Barnett. Keane is the younger brother of former youth international Kallum Keane and made his County debut earlier this season.

Brief article on Stephen Gleeson and his move to Birmingham. Anyone know how he is going? He comments on the step up in fitness levels from League One to the Championship are interesting as I never understand fully when you are a professional player, why clubs don't push you that extra step to make the players as competitive as possible.

In other news Carlisle are appealing Dicker's red card.

The fitness difference would mainly be down to facilities I think. You have your occasional outliers like Leeds or Wolves, but generally the teams that are in League One are there because it's their level, and financially that's a step below. The Championship clubs are richer, they pay more, they have better staff, etc and they'd also be used to playing against similar. Same as the step between the League of Ireland and the SPL or Championship.
