but at least a focus has been made on bringing strength to that area, but also means the door for one of our lads.
As is obviously necessary we're on the hunt for a striker in the close season..

Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........
It would be marvellous if we could somehow manage to get Kevin McHugh from Finn Harps but there's not a hope in hell i'd say. He's a smashing talent. Unless Eamon Zayed of Bray- supposed to be a cocky arsehole though from what I hear. Anyway I don't think he'd be good enough. Matthews might have no other option but to search across the water and i'd say his choices will be limited there too.

Yeah. probably but then again at the start of the season we had five strikers..If one was to leave I wouldnt be too surprised to see Eric go..he's pushing 34 and not scoring (on the field!)Originally Posted by max power

Gary O'Neill has apparently expressed an interest in coming to some of the players but as was said on here previously Shels are sniffing around too, plus I dont know is he the type of striker we need, good though he is, is he a regular goalscorer? Apart from him, it looks like either returnees from England or possibly someone from the North?

or me, i'll give it a go, couldn't do much worse than some of em this season.
talkin to a bohscoache in the last fews day and hawkins and hunt are off to shels......

I'd heard Hawkins and Crowe had agreed deals with Shels recently..Hadn't heard about Hunt but it wouldnt be a major shock, Bohs are talking about starting again afresh with a lower wage bill

it wouldnt surprise me is Denis Behan, currently with City slaps ina transfer request. He is certainly good enough to be playing 1st team football, but i doubt he will get ahead of Flynn, Doyle and Fenn.
Gary O Neil could be easily got for ye, or maybe even this Depuis bloke with Galway???
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.
Not sure he's a regular goal scorer, or that different from what we've got - a busy striker who doesn't score enough goals... However, he is in a really shíte team....Originally Posted by Longfordian

True. Plus the really prolific lads are on massive wages e.g. Arkins and Hamilton on £1500-1600 apiece part time at portadown! This is going to be where contacts will come in handy..No, Max, didn't hear anything about a midfielder yet.

It was eleven-a-side.com that got it wrong.Originally Posted by Longfordian
I think Alan's last line about heading across the water and picking up an irish striker coming home was the key quote. Monday's Irish Times has a list of the Irish players abroad.
Dessie needs a proper partner to work with up front. He'd make a good supplier for a poaching striker. Keegan, although i'm not much a fan of his, might be worth keeping cos if he has a good injury-less season he could have a very decent run of form.

According to the Sligo forum McTiernan is their highest paid player and their 2nd highest paid is on €1,000 per week! Would you pay more than €1000 for him?
If someone is coming to us from the first division they're not gonna get any more than €450-500 per week and that's a fact..

I just want a striker who can score more than 10 goals a season! Dublin City who look sure to be relegated...unfortunately have scored 15 times more than us this season! Lads only for our defenders we would be relegated, oh and the defenders were the ones scoring goals
Ever get the feelin' you have been cheated?
The club made a big mistake lettin Adrian Murphy go to Athlone! He's only young, scored 10 or so goals! From what I hear he hasn't had the best of times but definately one for the future and the club let him go!
