I think that very late free for a "foul" on Shaqiri was actually a free, despite no contact. All the usual reasons. Discuss.
Also, pundits on bbc moaning about a poor game. It's not their job to have us in raptures. It's their job to try and win a football game. 50 million people in both teams' countries don't give a hoot how entertaining it was. Lawrenson really is a miserable git.
Dzemaili was off-balance and was caught by surprise by the rebounding ball. He tried his physical best to get the knee on which his weight was further to his left to get a better angle on what was a very awkward ball, but had to just move at it when it came to him or the chance was gone for good with two Argentinians behind him. It's gutting, but it wasn't a sitter. There was little else he could have done to compose himself and get his leg around it.
Shaq didn't dive, he avoided getting his legs amputated.

Ah well Danny, what can you say on his behalf, he's been in germany for a season or two. They have it pumped into them there, morning noon and night since kindergarten, to look like you haven't passed stool for a week and now it's time but there's somebody occupying the bathroom.
Don't get why Belgium are persisting with the high crosses. American defence is dealing with all of them, but anytime Belgium play it low and into the box the Yanks look very dodgy. Americans very weak defending counter-attacks as well, Belgium should have scored a few that way.

Here's "the world" (some US cities and a bunch of American fans in the stadium) reacting to John Brooks' goal against Ghana:
