for starters to be on a par with shels would put them a level above Cork City - and no its not going to happen

even a positive outlook on a timescale would mean best case scenario in tallaght is in one or two seasons (prob two)

thats in a stadium that holds 3,000 (or so we're told) - there is no evidence that attending a field with one stand and exposed to the elements is going to entice anyone more than already go to rovers games - i'd argue that rovers would have a hell of a job on their hands to attract long term new support at tallaght as its stands

Dublin City have made more progress in the last 2 years than rovers have in the last 17 FACT

In the last 2 years we have been in europe twice. They have been in the first division.

Off the field we have an opportunity to finally get into a new ground. What will they do even if they stay up? Where they gonna play?

As for Roddy moving well it's not a shock. He is moving to the biggest club of them all. Other managers have walked out on clubs before. Get over yourselves. The sense of outrage is hilarious. He hasnt broken any rules.

Roddy hasn't broken any rules, but what he is doing is morally wrong imo.

"He is moving to the biggest club of them all" - nearly spat my food at the screen laughing at that one

Hope Rovers go down & THE ROD can jump ship again. Then Rovers can come back up the following season WITH their new stadium and a better attitude!

I wouldn't be happy if I was a Rovers fan about this news. Not only have you appointed a spoofer and one season wonder as your manager, you've also handed more motivation to Dublin City to play above themselves for the next few games to try and get their former boss relegated.

Personally I'm delighted to see Ronan Seery get fúcked over like this. Maybe now he'll understand what someone "lacking in moral fibre" is really like. Note to"Rocky"- maybe next time you'll use those abusive words with a little more justification.
Roddy Collins is, and always has been, ruhtlessly intent on putting himself first, anyone who believed he'd stay at Home Farm if a better offer came had their head in the clouds. Rovers bring more to irish football than Home Farm do, and I can't understand any sane individual wanting them to stay up.

they let you in too didn't they. Oh, I forgot that was when you had a real manager and weren't just plucking overgrown ballboys off the street and letting them **** your club up

collins isn't getting a penny fom DCFC OR CHF.Des Kelly gave him about 50 or 60k and he gave it to the club to pay the teams wages.its only logical that he moved to another club where he'll get paid.

Rovers have done nothing wrong here. Their job is simply to look after the interests of SRFC, first and foremost. If our clubs were in the same situation and did the same thing we wouldn't be so quick to criticise....

If anyone has done anything wrong (although it would only be an 'ethical' wrong - why didn't CHF have a decent contract in place with Roddy to prevent this sort of thing...?) then it's Mr Collins, not Rovers. Rovers owe nothing to Dublin City, so have done nothing wrong.

Therefore, my tune hasn't changed. Rovers still offer much more to Irish football than CHF, which is why I'd like to see the supposed Vikings going down.

It's the best of the 2 options for Irish football, plain and simple, as almost all of us have stated all season. Talk of us all suddenly becoming Dub City fans or anything else is therefore just ballax.

steve u just dont get it - the banter value of havin a rival dub club facing relegation is hilarious - the fact that dublin arent a real club and dont have any fans that i know means its ok to big them up in this fight

havin said all that they'll prob go and lose tonight and spoil all our fun

but the last week has been funny - and rod jumping ships is comic genius!

    a) Roddy , did get paid
    b) Des Kelly - if he gave roddy money, none of it went to Dublin City.

Imagine the fun you'd miss out on Guerzy if there were no Rovers fans comin to the cross next season!

Rovers to stay up and Roddy to lead them to third behind Cork City and second placed Derry next season, Shels to finish outside the top three and Dublin City to go out of business!! Sounds good to me.

Unhappy Late Surge from the Vikings

ROnan Seery was on Newstalk106 in Dublin earlier tonight.
Apparently he had a gentleman's agreement with Collins.
For future reference it takes two gentlemen to have a gentleman's agreement and I am afraid Ronan you were the only gentleman involved.

Remember the old adage, " A verbal agreement is not worth the paper it is written on !"

However Rovers should have notified Dublin City... it is only common courtesy or has common courtesy gone the way of everything in this country.... like decent attendances at every game and not just the glamourous one?
