i agree, Kildare shouldnt come up either but there should be a minimum requirement for promotion.Originally Posted by Aberdonian Stu

At least the lad witnessed his club WIN something in the past 30 years. Who are Harps to slag off any club.Originally Posted by Harpsbear

Dortie can you explain exactly why you hate Finn Harps FC, and why you just abuse any Harps fan that is trying to hold a decent debate with you.
Personally I don't hate Derry City, I just think some of your fans a fools at best.

Does Patsy McGowen go to your matches as a fan?
Wile understandably Derry City and Harps fans dont agree to much there is a general concensus amongst both that Dortie/Housty is a ******!!!!!!!!!!!May as well play him at his own game.

There is a mnimum requirement. To be promoted a team must finish in the top three in the First Division.Originally Posted by Pablo

Good to have Harps back.....an ideal premier would include themselves , Derry, Sligo, Limerick, and Galway with a few of the lame duck/bankrupt Dublin clubs dropping out.
That group above (if well financed and stable) together with Shels, Bohs, Pats, Cork and Waterford, and maybe Dundalk and Longford would make an ideal league.
Your club going behind our backs asking for the PSNI/RUC to be present in our ground was the final straw for me. As it was for MANY.Originally Posted by Neish
Other than that, the reason I HATE Finn Harps is
Your smugness as fans to other clubs, even though youve never won anything.
The verbal rhetoric Ive had to listen too both on the net and at games towards Derry People in general. Yep its a slagging, although the greyhound and unemployment welfare stigma is a laugh particularly to me as ive never had either.
Mmmmm Let me see, I dont like Donegal either. Other than that, Just dont like yee.

The 1500 covered seats was a rule from years ago. Technically, you should've been relegated on that technicality years before you actually were on the pitch. Town had to get a one year exemption on promotion to get one built (which we did, with fúck all from the FAI), but still clubs are let off with it. It's not a new thing with Licencing, just an old rule that's still being fúckin fudged by the league...Originally Posted by pineapple stu

Congrats to Harps, about bleedin' time. Great to see our second favourite club back where they belong.Originally Posted by A face
Just to clear up some confusion - Rovers have NOT had €9 million invested. That's a spoof by our lying toerag of a chairman which some people seem to have swallowed (fortunately that doesn't include us long-suffering Hoops)
For anyone who missed it the piece below from last Sunday's Indo explains it. Apologies to Harps for hijacking this thread but I felt it needed to be said.

'Saviour' of the Hoops in a pure property play
MARTIN FITZPATRICK
SOME domestic soccer supporters were getting a little carried away after the news last week that Dublin-based businessman Conor Clarkson had swooped to "rescue" Shamrock Rovers.
"Cash-starved" is a phrase that has followed Rovers' nomadic trudge through a series of rented Dublin stadia in recent years, while the shell of its stadium in Tallaght has been a reproach to its supporters. However, the news of Mr Clarkson's "rescue" was interpreted - and elaborately portrayed - as a E9m "investment" in Rovers and the end to all the hard times.
The latter may be true, but it is not true that Clarkson is stuffing Rovers' coffers. It is a pure property play. The Clarkson company's sole interest - and its cash - will be ploughed into the completion of an integrated sporting and leisure complex in Tallaght.
He may have a nominee on the Shamrock Rovers board but this column understands that Clarkson himself won't be a Rovers director. And the investment in the project will be nearer E7.5m than the reported E9m.
However, when the project is completed in 12 months' time, Rovers will have a landlord rather than a guardian angel. And impatient Rovers supporters will have to get used to the idea that it will be the 2006 season before they can take up residence in their westside home.
No One Likes Us, We Don't Care
True, actually (although then Drogheda and Rovers (maybe Waterford? never been down there) would have had to go as well, while nobody in the First would come up), if tangential to my point. The smaller clubs still can't do anything about it without grant assistance, which was my point. Meanwhile, the FAI throws away another quarter of a million because of its incompetence...Originally Posted by Macy
