Can anyone tell me how to create a field that isn't defined for a word document. i.e. I want to make a template for a form and then protect form template so that others just fill in the fields and cannot alter the form items

i say "that isnt defined" becuase I can see how to put in predefined ones like the date, time, etc. but i just want blank fields
