Duffy could have sat on the bench at Everton.or sat on the bench elsewhere but still be an Everton player.

I'm not an accountant, Paul. Point is, give him a few weeks to break into a well-functioning defence before assessing his decision-making abilities.

Maybe not but you schooled stutts previously so don't be acting so modest.

When did I school Stutts? If I had, I'm sure I'd have incorporated it into every post I make.

Derby went top of the Championship last night with a late penalty from the Coldplay fella

Hendrick played his first 90 minutes (for Derby) since returning from injury

Leon Best came on as a substitute with 15 minutes remaining. My buddy over said he's the worst player he's seen at Pride Park in years, that even Conor Sammon was a bigger threat. Admittedly, this was in frustration after they drew 0-0 at home to Millwall and he did add that he probably just needs a goal to get his confidence up

Richard Keogh has now helped the Rams to six clean sheets on the trot, proving that he's not distracted by his X Factor heroics -

O'Neill is having yet another look at Derby's Irish contingent, away at Brentford. Keogh, Hendrick and Cyrus Christie all start, while Alan Judge and Jon Douglas line out for the home team.

Hendrick had a bit of stage fright in front of the watching MON; he completed 68% of his passes.

Hopefully Judge impressed more and ended a few misconceptions.

He has made more tackles than anyone in the division and has been a mainstay in a holding midfield role.

Maybe it's just me, but I think you're over critical of higher ranking players, but seem to give players from lower ranked divisions (or sides) an easier time

Does douglas not anchor their midfield? I thought judge played as the more forward of a midfield 3

You have a go even when I don't mention the guy! Damned if I do, damned if I don't!

And Tets, I wouldn't have Judge ahead of Whelan but I think he could easily be called up in an extended squad of 36 instead of Green. I'm a big fan of Hendrick. I'd put his form yesterday down to his recent return from injury.

And Liamoo, this season, Judge has been playing alongside Douglas in a more defensive role.

Three nil to Derby at half time against Wolves, without needing to get out of second gear. Keogh did very well in helping the ball back into the danger area for Derby's third. Christie, Keogh and Hendrick all started. Their defence has been untroubled bar one chance that Wolves wasted when they should have equalised.

The irony of your second last post and this one is brilliant.

I don't get you Towk, which post?

Five for Derby now, made in Scotland this time, brilliant ball by Forsyth and finished by Russell.

Derby's attacking prowess will definitely see them to the top 6 I reckon. Forsyth, Russell and Martin all great players at this level but one was an unused sub, one wasn't in the squad and one was a sub in Scotland's game against Poland. Bryson seems to have begun the season slowly.

Great to see Hendrick in this form going into the upcoming Intl. game. It's a nice novelty to have a central midfield player who is capable of making runs like that, finishing as calmly as that and also capable of moments of ingenuity like his contorted assist against Germany.

I don't think Whelan should be anywhere near the first team, whatever about when he is fit - certainly not when he'll get 1/2 training sessions max.

Christie is winning his personal battle with Doherty sadly.

Wow... now that's a bold prediction. Favourites to win the division, currently top and six points clear of 7th place and you predict that they should finish in the top six. I'm sure you'll call me paranoid again but I presume you're focusing on their attacking prowess as a little dig at their defence, which hasn't been too shabby at all this season. Scotland could just as easily say that Keogh isn't getting on the Irish team and Hendrick is only making substitute appearances.

Has my request for the irony explanation been denied?
