. What allocation did Shamrock Rovers get, and have they sold that out?

Unless they have changed their policy, Rovers tend to pay lip service to the concept of selling ticket allocations for away matches.

Certainly this has been the case with any high demand matches they have played in the last few seasons in Oriel Park - where they have taken tickets and then returned the vast majority unsold, even though the demand may have exceeded the supply.

I have no doubt tomorrow night in Cork will exceed 6,000 and that would have been a great match to see on tv, however it prob would have effected the crowd, plus on selfish note I would have missed our game v Pats.

On actual crowd figures as opposed to capacity, does anyone know any specific high figures for league games, I'm thinking any that were over 6 or 7,000 and for a league match over the last 10 seasons for eg? Can't have been too many.

Cork v Derry for an end of league or title deciding match in 2006 or 2007 is possibly one.

Also Cork v Dundalk was 12,000 last day 1991, but that's a long way back.

Derry City vs Cork City last game of the season 2006 had a sell out in the Brandywell i believe but a smaller overall crowd maybe 4-6k? I know Cork Brought up 400, Derry lost out to $h€l$ for the league that night although $h€l$ went bust before the next season and Derry took their spon in the Champions league.

I wonder if the Cork-Rovers game being on TV would affect attendances though? It seems like there is a real buzz in Cork right now and everybody wants to get to the big games, and Rovers were always going to bring a big crowd, so I'd be reasonably confident it would still sell out. It would be amazing to see a sold-out game in a big stadium on TV during the regular season. That said, it's bad if you have the same teams on TV every week and all but one televised game so far has featured Rovers or Cork.

The problem would be not only would it be on tv but they would change the kick off time to 7.05 which would affect the attendance. Great to see such good crowds in Cork. I've said it before but i think they're the best supported team in the country.

Don't think we'll hit the 6,900 to sell out, but I think we'll be around the 6,000 mark anyway. Will certainly look full. Huge credit to the marketing group, video promos, advertising by media partners, 50euro for the 4 games initiative, groupon, billboards, they've really gone full tilt at it and it seems to be working. Credit to Johnny C and the team too, we wouldn't be getting near this if we didn't have such a fantastic (and somewhat unexpected) start to the season.

The downsides of such a buzz around it is that there are some people who have said they aren't going tonight because it's sold out (it's not), so some confusion. We ran out of tickets again at the club shop, the university and the outlets selling in the city. Now are going to be selling at the ground from 3.30. Definite learning curve here.

They always tend to over estimate our attendances. They had 5000 originally for the Rovers game. Considering the attendance for the Drogs game was 1600 and change, I'd be surprised if it was more than that.

UCD should be taken over by the FAI and entered into the First Division on the same basis as Rovers B, as a Dublin nursery team ineligible for promotion and the cups.

UCD are a top tier team, which they've proven time and again. Even when relegated they've bounced straight back up in the last ten years. They play within their means and they're competitive. There's nothing else to say.
