Totally agree with you Charlie - a reasonable amount of forward planning & trying to stick to a regular slot for the live games would make a huge difference.
It's still not long since we were lucky to get two live games in a season (including the Cup final) & I'm certain that any TV is better than none (from a point of view of promoting to non-LOI fans), but if we could have a regular weekly live game in a regular time-slot that will add to the increase in interest in the league over time.

Even allowing for the fact they've had UCD and Limerick, neither of whom would bring lots of fans, that is a seriously poor stat for Pats.
edit: I know it's a different club, but would it not be worth putting in GUFC's attendance in the history for Galway?
Where did the Bohs figure come from Nigel? Looks official but a little on the low side. The official capacity this season is over 4000 so hard to believe there were 600-700 empty seats in the ground. I wonder if the kids go free scheme was counted towards total attendance.
It's the attendance on Extra Time but I don't know where they got it. There was no attendance announced at the match that I heard. The Rovers section was cut off to a point, so I'd take 300 off the capacity attendance for that, but I'd say the Jodi was oversold too so it's still going to be at least 3.700.
4,227 is the capacity of Dalymount currently according to Google. I'd assume the official attendance given is minus season ticket holders, and as Charlie said above, and was clear in a few pictures, there was quite a number of seats blocked off in the Des kelly stand.
Also, I would add in GUFC stats if I felt them necessary, but since it's a completely new club, I don't think it would make much sense. There'd be as much use putting in Mervue or Salthill attendance stats as GUFC.

It's only marginally more a new club than Cork or Derry were. 90%+ of the people at Galway FC never took in a Mervue or Salthill game in their lives, but a big majority were Galway United fans. It's basically a merger of Galway United with two local clubs and I think it would be appropriate to recognise that, although I think you're entitled to make the final decision of course.
Point taken, but I don't feel in this instance, that it would be fair. If there is enough people who think it's worth it, I'll add them in, but I personally don't think it should be included.

4,000 was the figure given for the crowd at the equivalent fixture last year ( which I thought was 3-400 too high). The crowd last Friday was significantly bigger. Take 400 empty seats off the Des Kelly and add in the approx 200 extra in the oversold Jodi . ( I walked through the main gate of the stand with a lot of other members without being recorded when that gate was opened to relieve the congestion in Dalymount lane)
Yeah very poor start, the Limerick game being on TV on Saturday at quarter past 3 didn't help but still a shocking crowd.
Our next 2 home league games are Dundalk and Rovers so we should see a significant rise in our figures.
We've now played 5 competitive home games already this season, in 3 different competitions.
Here on a technicality.

Attendance at Wexford Youths v Longford was 182.
While it wont be the 1,000 + we took last season Id say we will take a little more than 300, there are a lot of Dlk fans working in Dub, and its just cross city for them, but its certainly not a great time for the majority travelling down the M1. Even 7.35 would have made a difference.
