EPFL representatives from 16 European soccer leagues to meet in Dublin tomorrow October 25th 2004, 2pm

The Eircom League will tomorrow (Tuesday, October 26th) host a two-day meeting of the European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL) at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, commencing at 2pm.

In attendance will be representatives of 16 European football leagues - chairmen, presidents and general secretaries of the Irish, English, Scottish, Belgian, French, Dutch, German, Austrian, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Greek, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and Finnish leagues. The eircom League joined the EPFL in July 2004.

Delegates will discuss the new EPFL constitution during Tuesday afternoon's session while Wednesday's agenda includes the FIFA regulations for the status and transfer of players; proposals for the local training of players; public access to information on exclusive broadcast rights contracts; social dialogue with the EU, FifPro and UEFA; and a report into artificial pitches.

Chairing the two-day meeting will be EPFL Chairman and Chairman of the FA Premier League David Richards. Richards is also chairman of UEFA's Professional Football Committee and is the former chairman of Sheffield Wednesday FC.
