After seeing a less than full stand (which holds 2,300) in Derry last night I think we can take it that Derry fans are the kings of exaggeration on this thread. If they can't fill it for a Cup Semi-final how can they expect us to believe that they have "nearly" filled it on a number of occasions throughout the season (yes I have read through the thread!). I remember one instance when it was stated that the stand was again "nearly full, with only a couple of hundred empty seats" (ha, same as last night actually!) and when the game highlights were shown on TV3 and the camera panned the ground a half full stand was clearly visible.
And when we played up in Derry there was a crowd of about 1,000 which was backed up in our local paper who always get the official attendance but what the Derry fans gave here was 1,700! From first hand experience I can tell you that is some exaggeration.
Now before anyone starts I know our crowds are not great for a team in 2nd (but at least they are accurate and along with Bohs are realistically the only ones that can be taken seriously) and that Derrys (real) crowds aren't bad for the football they have had to put up with this season (brutal last night!) but some of the sh*te on here really bugs me!

Limerick v Harps attn 75!![]()
I think even their stated capacity of 2,300 is an exaggeration. It holds less than 2,000 AFAIK!

Standing capacity is almost 700.
As for Windy Miller there....the only seats empty were around the Waterford fans which were reserved by the 5% away rule.
Flancare looked packed out yesterday....![]()

Not true. You see you can't get away with your exaggerations now as we all have eyes.Originally Posted by dortie
