So what is the deal with this guy? Born in London played 5 games for the u19's but
    nothing since (he is 26).

So is he committed to us? If he carries on playing like this England will start sniffing around.
Obviously he is not officially committed to anyone having played no senior games.

He seems to have slipped under the radar somewhat well my radar anyway, those of you with a sophisticated AWACS system may think otherwise.

Speaking of slipping under the radar, any news on the missing AirAsian jet yet? Does not look good, what on earth is
    happen to aircraft over there?

He was in the papers a couple of months ago talking about how he wants a call-up for Ireland (TOWK would be disgusted) so I guess he is committed.

Well that sounds promising and if TOWK will be disgusted so be it, call him up,
top of the Championship is a decent level and he has played a role in getting them there.

Hope he can keep it up. In terms of squads, it's a shame he's turned red hot at a time when there's no games imminent. But players displaying this type of form should be rewarded.

Why? There is a difference between saying it once and saying it an inordinate amount of times.

O'Neill watched Arter at the weekend: http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...-30899527.html
Read Keane was at the Forest game, which led to speculation he wants to take over from Pearce if he is fired. Nothing to do with Keiren Westwood playing in goals for Wednesday, of course
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

Yes Pearce must be on thin ground at Forest, Keane of course is and ex-Forest man having started his English career there.

On the subject of Forest, Andy Reid played the first 6 game, 4 wins 2 draws, 14 points 2.33 points per game

    Next 19 game (if I counted correctly) 3 wins 8 defeats 8 draws = 17 points = 0.9 points per game.

It has been a similar story when Reid has been out before, Forest can't buy a win.

Well Peace sacked, not too surprising really, new manager Dougie Freedman starts off with a win.

    But back to Harry,

Eager Harry Arter hoping for Ireland call-up

    Updated: Thursday, 05 Feb 2015 10:13

Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter is flying high in the English Championship and hoping that his impressive club form will be rewarded with a first international call-up for the Republic of Ireland.
Arter’s Bournemouth currently sit top of the Championship table and Ireland manager Martin O’Neill has revealed that the player is very much in his thoughts ahead of naming his squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifier with Poland at the Aviva Stadium next month.

What a strike! Arter doubles the lead with a sensational strike, which finds the far top corner. 2-0!

Harry Arter’s superb strike put daylight between the two sides before substitute Brett Pitman sealed the victory with an emphatic penalty.

...which Arter won with a terrible dive. Surging run into the box but then he went down, deliberately to deceive the ref I reckon. One could argue that he was expecting contact but I don't think so.

looks like the guy on the right kicked Arter foot with his foot causing him to trip.

Hard to tell but he effectively trips him by squeezing his space.

Think there was probably a bit of contact and the guy did stick his foot out, but it was a dive. His goal, on the other hand, sublime. What a hit.

Was an absolute cracker. Also liked his positioning and reading of the game, he came forward almost as if he knew that chance was going to fall to him.

Also there is a push from the guy on Arter's right (no 7), not a big push, but a push none the less, so that is a legitimate penalty.

So it only take a small push to knock you over when you are finely balance, so not a dive in my book.
