Thats my choice - i want pip over deano - football over brawn.
Those two took the **** out of pats in last years final.

    Question Pip over Deano?

From what I've seen of him, Deano has very little football in him. He's a big lad and offers a physical presence in the middle of the park but personally I don't think he has delivered for the town. Keogh, although a light lad is by far the better footballer and I think it's awful that Matthews has just illuminated him from the starting line-up since Fitzgerald's arrival.
On the other hand, one could argue that Deano is the man to keep Judas Ratsnold at bay for the day, just like he did in the RSC a few months back! And if he can do that, then his selection is justified. But I really hope that Pip will be introduced at some stage if at all possible as he performed ever so well this time last year.

IMO Deano is a welcome addition to our side. Head and shoulders above everyone (except Barry) at the semi in United pk. He has brawn and he's not a bad footballer, scored a few goals and really wants to be involved in loads. Remember he has reached double figures in recent seasons. Looking forward to seeing him operate next season. This season has'nt gone Pips way at all and no doubt he's looking at last year and using that to motivate himself next year. I'm a fan of Pip's and I would see a partnership with himself and Deano more likely than anyone else when he's back to his old self.

BTW, am I on my own in thinking that my perception of any game I watch is completely different to what most others look for in a game?

I think it is essential that Prunty plays on the wing as Shane is just not hitting last years form, and Prunty adds a lot to the attacking options. This would mean Paisley in the centre and Garto at left full ( or even visa versa). I think Deano and Vinnie together would be too slow and too similiar and I would definitely opt for Vinnie as he always rises his game for the big occasion. Also Deano performs well on a tight pitch but is found out on the big spaces. This means Martin or Pip and while I was disappointed in Pip Tuesday I think I'd give him the nod.
Kirby, Lavine and Baker to finish it off. Barrett and Martin for impact subs.

I thought Pip done ok on Tuesday night and Vinny has been poor lately and looks very unfit. It's a shame Barry is missing as he has been excellent lately but we'll just have to manage without him.I think this is the most evenly balanced final in years but if we play like we can then i can't see any reason why we won't win.Does anyone know if the ref is any addition or do we have to endure 90 minutes of inconsistant crap.

Yeah your probably right Max and when you throw in 2 clowns for linesmen you have a right panto altogether.
On a seperate issue does anyone know ( Gheewhizz/Longfordian ) how well the tickets are selling because it all seems a bit low key at the moment plus with the Trains not running and every bus full people who would like to go may not go because of this.

Max, do you mean that Longford has sold over 8000 tickets so far & that there will be 70 buses going from Longford or do you mean altogether?
