Limavady 1-3 Derry City.
Pitch was soft so Roddy didn't want to risk the senior players. Was basically our U19 team playing.

Limerick head to Spain for pre-season and took in two games. Did any other teams leave the island or Ireland?

A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.

Galway FC 6-2 Mervue Utd
How many of the Galway starting XI are likely to be from that Mervue squad last season? They've made some good signings from outside also.
I would say a minimum of 6 would have started for Mervue last season. Its hard to tell really as we have a large squad, with some fantastic signings from outside of the mervue/salthill links as well. Watch out for Jake Keegan, he will score a good few goals for us this season IMO.
Shelbourne 3-0 Shamrock Rovers last night.
Rovers a mix of A and B teams
There's no rule about that that I know of- it's just generally not done since teams play so often anyway.
#NeverStopNotGivingUp
I thought it was actually a rule but I could be wrong.
Nah, Rovers played a friendly against UCD last year. It's uncommon but not banned.
By whom is it frowned upon? It's fine but it's fairly stupid when you're going to be playing the same teams up to 6 times during the season and there is an entire other division here as well as the Irish League to play against.
