Different club same suppporters and still as sensitive as ever over the mention of DVD's. Very nice to see some continuity between the old and the new!
Make that 3-3

Steady on lads. It's a bit much to be getting your onesies in a twist at this stage of the season. I made a genuine comment on my thoughts about how things went and I had some poor offended soul whingeing that I wasn't paying enough tribute to their efforts.
"Even if the wind stops to blow
Even if the sea ceases to flow
Even if the sun ceases to rise
The name of Sligo Rovers will shine and shine forever like the morning star glittering in the sky."
Wasn't whingeing about lack of credit - was genuinely surprised at the result and thought it was a bit lame to be putting it down to a couple of U-19s in the visiting side.
Doesnt take much then, maybe you need to get out more often!
I dont think that there were excuses being made for the result or blaming it on under19's. There was concern voiced over the strength in depth of the Sligo squad and that if they are relying on u19's to bolster the squad it could effect a top half teams competetiveness. I would imagine that monies spent on drawing down sports capital grant could be putting a squeeze on the player budget.

Pats beat Shels 4-1 last night and beat Crumlin 3-1 today. Fahey played in both games and the rest of our new signings also played a part in either 1 or both of the games except for Quigley who has a minor knock.
That pretty much covers it. I don't know to what extent the ground development is affecting the playing budget (there's grants and direct sponsorship involved) but we're definitely short of depth. Right now we could put out as strong a first 11 as any team in the league, but injuries to just two key players could be enough to make the wheels come off.
Seriously can't understand why the Galway lads are getting all bent out of shape. If you're that anxious for credit for that result it could be a long season tramping around Division One.
To get the SCG 20% of the grant figure must be raised unless criteria have changed. That would be in the region of 60k. If that is covered by sponsorship great, if not then its a good chunk out of an annual budget and the squad is bound to be affected. If Sligo are weakened for a season or two it would be worth it in the long run to see the facilities improve. It would be a very lucky season not to lose a player or 2 to injury or suspension at some point and have to bring in young lad that might struggle. It will be a bit of a novelty this season for us to have quality throughout the squad to cover any absentees.
Bohs beat Swords Celtic 4-0.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
I don't think we're that big a scalp anymore. If we ever were obviously. Would think that if we finished third this season it would be a good season. Unless North stays fit and Eric fits in as well as Djilali did. And that's asking a hell of a lot.
I wish. We've loads of quality in midfield but if North gets injured or is in a similar state of 'fitness' as at the end of last season, we don't have another recognised striker. On top of that, with Peers out probably until midway through the season, all we need is one injury to give us a centre-half crisis. In terms of depth, we're lagging well behind Pats, Dundalk, Cork and Derry.
