Are you well? Noel left two weeks before the start of the season - dropping us right in it. Mike Kerley took over (and of course inherited Noel's team). The early results were very poor - understandably given the pre-season they'd had and having a new manager landed in. Remember, although we had won the league cup (a great achievement) we finished bottom of the league.

That season (Mike's first) ended with a 14 game unbeaten run and a playoff defeat away to Derry. A team had been created and well managed, creating a team is not just about assembling the right players. Then in the close season the entire team (well, 9 of them) left or were allowed to leave. A new team had to be built right from scratch again with the threat that there might not even be league football - we couldn't get a license until 2 weeks before the season kicked off. How easy is it to get players to sign when you don't even know if the team will be in the league? This season we have gone to matches with 9 outfield players. There is no point in having a manager if the team is picked for you.

So, you give out about Mike and say he should go because we are bottom of the league. And you want to bring back the previous manager. Where did we finish in his last season in charge? Oh yeah, bottom of the league.

fc Hammer, i sit corrected. got your post confused with willie john's. I still think you are being harsh on Mike. i would rather see him stay - and see what kind of a manager he is if he has resources to allow him to do the job properly instead of firefighting all the time.

How anyone can question his ability as a manager is beyond me.
now this is where you are wrong n o c was a manager who ran the team on 2000.00 per week pleanty of good players wanting to play for the club all the players taken by other clubs good strong clubs what new players did mike bring on 4000.00 per week ??????not one player he got will be taken by any other club in the leauge at the end of the season .mike is a nice guy a good player a good no.2 but not a boss yet but will be one and in 3 years time i think he could be as good as noc or even better but limerick dont have 3 years i do think mike has done a fair job but next season no players comming true looks to me as another crap season before it starts unless CORK WANT TO GIVE US THERE UNDER 21S AND NOC

    players in

Cant pass O'Brien came from cork on loan, Tomas Hughes from waterford on loan, Brendan Hughes from Galway United, Jalmard Kulsten froma dutch club, so i think he has signed a few players in. Mick has done a good job with LIMITED resources although €4000 for this present team is ridiculous. I think it has to do with the number of players actually signed this year or used (29 i think) which makes it so high. If mike is replaced id like to see us hang onto him as he has an oter year to run on hsi contract so assistent manager or under 18 or 21s manager. Id like to see Noel back in the club as well as a director of coaching and off all football matters. Now for manager id like to see........John Gill! that if mike were to be replaced

but how many times were players not paid? and as for attracting new players, its very difficult to do in this league- majority of players play in dublin and won't move from there, even we at Cork CIty have that problem and we have more money than limerick. add to that the ridiculous rule the limerick district league have about junior players and you can see why any manager would have trouble!
