Support areas for Dublin clubs

I saw the following on facebook page a while back which had done a poll of which areas fans of the big 4 Dublin clubs come from.

I'd be interested in doing the same on here.
Seeing how people move around etc I'm thinking it would be best to ask which area (postal code or county if outside Dublin) they grew up in or identify most with from their childhood.

So let me know which team you support and what post code. e.g. Pats D8 or Shels D4...

Be interesting to see if there is much support for Bohs in the south or Rovers in the north, if Shels fans are mainly from Ringsend or now around Drumcondra.

Originally from Dublin 10, moved to Lucan in 2001. Supported Pats in theory. Never liked going to Richmond.

Live in Smithfield Dublin 7.

Started supporting Shels when I was living in Harold's Cross (D6W) back in 2007 and then moved to Drumcondra (D9) and then Stoneybatter (D7).

Where do I fit in? :P

Rovers, Dublin 24, easy one. I've had the same conversation with people from here before, but I never got much of a sense there was a Pats support in Tallaght - it was mainly the older generation (I'm late 20s).

A good chunk of Pats support come from Tallaght, Rovers up there only a new-ish thing, would have been a Pats area before that.

From D16 myself, mostly Rovers around here but a decent Pats support

The Tallaght thing is definitely new but Rovers were always within the catchment area. I think a lot of people would have made the trip to Milltown rather than going to Inchicore, although my formative period would have been when Rovers were in Richmond among other places.

How did you manage to end up supporting Pats then, being from D16 (Templeogue?)?

Bull island has very diverse support on it, in my time it was all Drums, I suppose Irelands Eye and Lambay are still hardcore Bohs.

Pats, Dublin 24. A lot of friends are Shams fans. Would be a relatively new thing for a lot of them. I'm early/mid 20s and have been going down to Inchicore for over a decade now!

Rathfarnham, my dad is from Inchicore. The Dolan era got a a fair few from around here supporting Pats.

Like Pats as well because of a number of Galway lads who have played for them (delighted for John Russell this year). But I always seem to notice a few non-dubs anytime I was in Dalymount.

I know one lad from Westmeath from when I was living and working in Dublin that would fluctuate each week between Dalyer and Tolka as they never played on the same nite.. I didnt go to Bohs games but I went to Tolka park twice! He would go cos it was hard to come home to see Longford Town play!

To be fair, I'd find it difficult to get to Longford Town matches too if I thought they played in Westmeath.

A lot of the big population of country folk traditionally living in and around D7 and area that would go to the odd game certainly before I left the country. Some ended up following us home and away notably groups from Carlow, Wexford and Donegal. We also have a large fan base in Meath due to people moving from Dublin to satellite towns like Ratoath, Ashbourne, Dunshaughlin and Navan too.
