Even if your second hand account of the Dan Connor incident was correct, so what? It does not mean that CCFC fans have a reputation for making trouble. I am old enough to be the father of at least 50% of them, and I can see for myself what they are like. They are full of spirit and colour (except for regulars in certain sections of the Donie Forde stand). They travel in huge numbers all over Ireland and Europe. Their commitment and standard of behaviour are something which any club manager in the EL would love to have. OK, they sing songs which you will not hear on RTE. And yes, there are incidents with some CCFC fans which are so isolated, they have to be repeated again and again by rival club supporters to try to give a certain impression.
Here is what I saw. During the game, Connor made a number of outsanding saves. At the final whistle, he was totally pumped up, jumping and roaring. Nothing wrong with that. He opened a water bottle and drank some, and sprayed himself and some of his squad with it. Still all OK. As he came near the tunnel, there were a few children (my own child among them who was 10 at the time) hanging over the wall beside the tunnel, waiting for City players' autographs. A few jeers came from people in the stand. Connor apparently tried to spray at them, and the water got only as far as the children. This was not OK, IMO. The Garda standing nearby thought the same, and reported the incident. Apart from the jeers, I saw nothing thrown at Connor, and I was only a few feet away, looking directly down at him from the stand.

What is the point of your question? No player should incite a crowd with gestures, but he is not our manager, so his actions have to be seen in a very different light.

The EL coverage of the red card incident was decent enough. Looking at it frame by frame, the worst that could be said is that Reynolds attempted to punch or elbow Behan, and missed. And even that is not certain, so I agree. It looked harsh. Either the ref got it wrong, or the linesman saw more than the tape showed, as he looked at the play from a different angle.
