Wasn't nearly as exciting the 2nd time round for either.

Be great to see a new sponsor announced if true.

A kinda weird stat is that after all these years Linfield haven't once played in Turner's Cross in this competition. Every year I've hoped we'd draw them to get a bit of a crowd out but never happens.

I am convinced it was a condition on them entering the competition, very strange that it never happened given both clubs participation in it.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

8 teams in it for 2014, with four from each league

Derry must be dissappointed that they have been ignored. Shamrock Rovers are not there on merit.

Unless they're there as holders or league cup winners. TO be fair to the Setanta, they did have a rule about holders getting a spot

Yes, I forgot about Shams being the reigning cup holders.

Were did St Pat's get this confirmation from? I ask because I think someone may have got a little ahead of themselves.

Is it that you believe this to be correct information released ahead of an official announcement, or that it is simply factually incorrect?

You'll have to ask them. In fairness, I don't think they would do so without official word from the organisers

It was in the Daily Star yesterday as well, which said that it would be one-off ties and not over two legs.

I'd like Rovers to draw Crusaders or Glentoran, haven't met either of them competitively since the 60s.

    So 7 games in total?
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

Seems that way. I'd definitely be in favour of it too.

A stat I'm sure Professor K is aware of but Pats will be making a LOI record 7th Setanta appearance. Here's all appearances to date

You would think there would be a collective announcement from all the clubs on the back of an official announcement from the organisers. Have all the 'i's' been dotted on this one....

I know its a dream but to have all of them broadcasted would be awesome. Specially if they are one leg games, it's affordable considering they covered 7 last year. (If im not wrong)

That hasn't been the case in previous years, has it? Clubs have done it piece-meal and only upon the launch has anything official been fully announced

Continue with the rhetoric though if you think it won't be as Pats have described
