As usual, a balanced version of events from the examiner. All seems fairly reasoned apart from a dig at someone's dad. Hard to know if it was tongue in cheek or not without hearing it but broadcast media had left at that stage as far as I can tell.
I think he came across quite balanced in the Telegraph report too.
I think the most interesting tidbit is the one that Robbie knew he wasn't going to play before the last training session. RTE made a big deal out of saying their little bit of footage of O'Neill taking him aside was the moment he was told he wouldn't be playing and all the sensation that comes with it. I'd take Keane's word over theirs.

Regardless of whether the papers have blown it up I'm sick to death of these distractions. The timing of the book release was crazy, almost an insult to fans of the team who think the team is the most important thing and who expect a match, even against Gibraltar, to be the focus of media attention. I'd prefer his salary to be spent on coach education at this stage.
Except RMK will always be about (and always has been) sating his ego. This is how he operates, unfortunately.
