Does he have a point? I don't know if he was treated differently to any manager before him, but I certainly agree that Kenny has gotten a very easy ride for a very long time.
It's not a straight line to compare what each manager had and achieved but let's take one perspective on the the plaudits he receives for qual for Euro 2016.
Before the 2016 Euros there have been 6 campaigns since 1988. With a similar 2016 qual criteria that MO'N had, we could have qualified direct some 4 times after finishing in the top 2 and in the other 2 campaigns we would've been in the reckoning for the playoffs after finishing 3rd, even Stan's Ireland finished 3rd.
Does he have a point? one of the world's highest paid managers along with highest paid side kick in the history of football, after a sh'ite last campaign, at a time when the FAI was just about to collapse? I'd have a lot of respect for MO'N but little time for his sarcasm, his lack of graciousness in this respect and his sense of entitlement. He should take a leaf out of Mick's book when it comes to certain aspects of character.

A random one here (if he goes ahead with it, that is), esp since he succeeded Howard Wilkinson as Chair of the (English) League Managers Association only last month, usually a position for someone whose management career has wound down:

"Former Ireland boss Martin O’Neill may be set for a return to management in Romania"

It’s been almost five years since the 72-year-old’s last job after he was sacked by Nottingham Forest, but it has now emerged that Romanian top-flight side Rapid Bucharest are reportedly working on bringing O’Neill in as their new boss.

It would be O’Neill’s first club job outside of the UK in his managerial career, with Fanatik reporting that the club are hoping to secure the Derryman’s signature after Cristiano Bergodi was sacked last month following a disastrous start to the play-off series. The club have two games remaining this month before the campaign ends.

Look who else is in the running. Allegedly.

Shirley, Neil Lennon is far more realistic than Martin O'Neill ~ You'd think Martin O'Neill would be too savvy to take on such a risky proposition, for what I expect would Not be that great of money !

Not much to be honest. Spent the majority of the interview talking about his playing career. Tommy was caught for words a few times during the interview, which is strange from him.

I think Tommy was trying to get personal, as he does, and trying to get O’Neill to open up, but O’Neill wasn’t having any of it. The perfect example was when he asked him about crying, and O’Neill pivoted the question to talking about regrets in his playing career. There’s something about him that I can’t really take to.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Don't get me started on Tommy Tiernan - he can't hold the ball, he can't pass, he can't shoot, is useless in the air and worst of all he boasts about his lack of preparation!
