What was the connection? Local government?
Probably not worthy of a thread on its own, but Sligo were just featured as part of a local government report on Prime Time tonight. Just a bit of training footage and a passing mention, but I suppose it's better than no publicity.
What was the connection? Local government?
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
It was about the difficulties local government is facing funding itself with Sligo as a case study. They used footage of Sligo training (not sure if current or not) saying the recent games have provided a welcome distraction for the locals. Fair play, they could easily have used Manchester United's crunch league tie with West Brom.
Fair play, it was in a positive light which is always welcome.
