I'd have Horgan or Quigley in a heartbeat, but I have a feeling they'll both be going elsewhere. On Dodge's point, Gaynor does have defensive weaknesses, but what he gives you going forward more than makes up for it. I'd have him in the side before Dav every time.

Horgan's certainly a loss to us but it's not very surprising. I'd say best of luck to him but if he's going to another LOI team I really want him to fail miserably

Might be a good time for ye to look at having members pay a bit each month and build up a get out of jail fund. I think every LOI club needs to go this way.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

I know what ye mean but you would hope that financial regulation does its job and that building a warchest as a just in case shouldnt be necessary. Those monthly contributions should go to the supporters trusts as the 'guardians' of the club as is the case i suppose at Dundalk. Lessons were well learned from the recent wrestling match with previous club owner. Bit off topic sorry!

Horgan for me though i'll take Quigley and Kilduff too if they're going cheap *cough*

Article on the BBC today about East Fife, who have set up a crowdfunding project not to build a warchest, but specifically to raise money for ground developments: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...iness-25199039

Great idea! All LoI fans feel free to contribute to an Oriel Park Away Section development fund and consign those cold, wet, foodless, leg crossing after a few beers, nights to the distant past. Anything raised above initial costs may subsequently be used for heated seats and attached hand warmers, coin operated binoculars would be provided for the €15 premium ticket holders giving the ultimate match viewing experience!

That was the original aim of FORAS, but things changed quickly in 2008.

Something like that would be a great idea for us if we were to get a long term lease on the ground at cheap rent.

Richard Brush back to The Real Rovers and that may be the former player that was being referred to.

Listen, I'm just hoping he still has an appetite for the game. We are a team that's hungry for success and we need big players in our team.

    Ok, I'm done.

In all seriousness, I'm happy with the signing. He has shown that he has quality and it's up to him to get it going again. He has a point to prove and a Fabio - Hughes partnership could really work out for us.

Fabio-Hughes has the potential to be the Berbatov-Bent of the LOI. Loads of talent but ask them to run five yards.

Hughes maybe but Fabio is fitter now than he ever was and he's more than willing to run.

He might be fitter than ever he's not at the age where he can do an awful lot of running. He always had all the talent to be winning multiple leagues but never the work rate.

Is Ronan Finns contract up with Rovers? Not re-signed yet or at least no announcement and he hasn't been said to be gone either.
