I'd have Gregory starting every week but what would I know? Sure I've only been a City fan for 13 years![]()
I see a few of people have relatively negative responses to Greg's performance last night, but I think he had a very good game and he's essential to city if we're to win next friday. Simply because he gets stuck in and that's what we need against waterford. They'll try to kick the sh1t out of us but the won't win a battle with greg!
Last night he TERRIFIED Longfords right winger(s) and we need more of the same in the RSC!

His distribution was poor.
Greg, has never been a good passer of the ball, but he's hard as nails!
j'accuse!

I thought Greg did reasonable well last night. I think he'd have done even better if he'd started on the right with Hoggie on the left.
I was delighted to see him back in the team anyway and he's just the type of player we need against the Waterford thugs on Friday as it is bound to be a very physical game.
Champions!
danny murphy will go straight back into the team friday night
I agree but I think we'll need both Greg and Danny in the team to counteract Waterford's style of "football".Originally Posted by thecorner

We wouldn't want Hoggy getting another fracture either. I'm assuming that the leg is now weaker than before, and if the thugs know that, they could go for him. No harm in resting the lad anyhow.Originally Posted by Colm
I thought we looked a lot more solid defensively without murphy last night. I would have played greg on the right and hoggy on the left, but they both played well. Hoggy was excellent, Greg took a while to get with the pace, but got better and better as the game went on
its no coincidence that our good form coincides with Hoggys return imoOriginally Posted by Éanna
hoggy's been alright, nothing special, and i still think he's a half a yard off the pace, but he'll be back to his best pretty shortly.Originally Posted by Pablo
our good form coincides with the fact we've played the bottom two clubs, along with a poor longford team.
we played some good football in patches last night but we face a much tougher test against wwaaaherfurh on friday, who, as we know, will just be out to kick the sh!t out of us for 90 minutes and sneaking a goal, as opposed to trying to play any constructive football whatsoever.
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?
we need to be prepared for that if we want to challenge the topOriginally Posted by Ruairi
Any word on the Ref for Friday.
We need a strong ref who'll stamp out Waterfords "style" early on in the game
Oh no not them again
it's dave mckeown

I strongly believe that Greg and RB and Hoggie at LB would have been the intelligent decision last night. Greg has no left leg and last time he played there was at the RSC and he was poor distribution-wise then too.Originally Posted by Éanna
I expect Danny to be back in, but his recent form has not been great (defensively) and I'd be inclined to play Greg, but only at RB.
2 great photos on the Echo last night that characterise Gregs spirit.
The first one he had Dessie the Rat by the throat and the other one he is kicking Paul Keegan up into the air.
What a breath of fresh air he is.
Welcome Back.
Spirit - fair enough. But I'd like footballers who play for City to be able to make an 8 yard pass and control a ball first time...Originally Posted by razor
I think spirit has been sorely lacking in the team over the past while.Originally Posted by Neil
Greg hasn't played in a bit so i'm sure his touch will come back given time.
