Extremely. Well Martinez would seem to be at the right club anyway, as they have a sensible chairman who's unlikely to do anything rash. They were always a bit of 'one good season, one poor season' club under Moyes anyway I think. They should give the Europa a right crack, the third placed CL teams don't look overly daunting if Manchester City, particularly, and Liverpool make the the knock-outs.

How many points did Everton have at this point last season? Are they doing that badly in comparison? The Europa League has been going pretty well for them.

They had 27 points, only 18 this time. Much bigger injury list I suppose and obviously the Europa never helps league form.

I wouldn't know if the reporter is biased myself.

How could anybody not love Roberto? He even makes wholesale changes for a dead rubber sound exciting! No mention of Gibson, do we know how long he's out for?

If anyone is ever over for an Everton match they should walk around the outside of the ground and see the photo timeline they have. It's very good and has some great photos. One or two of the great Peter Farrell. Never saw him play but knew him well and he was a real gentleman who had some great stories to tell.

Everton to play Dundalk in January or February next year as part of the Ben McLaughlin transfer back in 2012.

That's a long time coming - two years since he left? Any idea how he's getting on?

Very understrength team tonight. No Irishmen in the squad.

Bit disappointing that Sam Byrne isn't even in the squad considering his age and the fact that he has more first team experience at a decent level than several lads in the squad.

Hopefully Coleman is more of a presence from hereon out. Bit disappointing that he hasn't featured after scoring in that Wolfsburg game.

Gibson & McCarthy very close to return.

Martinez trying to get to the bottom of McCarthy (and Everton's) injury problems this season. "11 different players have endured muscle strains amounting to 17 separate injuries."

Assist from Coleman for Everton's opener, following a brilliant McGeady pass:

McGeady & Coleman both involved in Everton's goal, Coleman with the assist, Everton 1-0 up.

Will have to start celebrating assists from Irish players as if they are goals because there has been/will be sweet f*** all of them this season.

Was his worst game of the season according to the stats. 5.38 out of 10, not good.

Why exclude Irish scorers not based in the Premier League? Which Irish players have you been banking on scoring Premier League goals this season anyway? Walters has a few; the only other Premier League forwards we have are Doyle and Long.

Depend on how you judge it, if you look at the feet he is just onside, if you look at the centre of gravity, slightly offside.

A player is in an offside position if:

    • he is nearer to his opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent
Problem is it does not specify how the position of a player is defined.
I guess in that case it is up to the ref to decide.

If any part of a player that can score a goal (so not his arm or hand basically) is ahead of the second last opponent then he is offside

The gif is a bit ambiguous but the video replay at the time showed he was in line.

In other news, dropping McGeady has worked out badly for Martinez as they're 2-0 down to Hull's rabble. McCarthy and Gibson both miss out with injury.
