I think that a draw is a better result for Dundalk than Pats. It brings Sligo right back in to things and they still have to play Pats
Maybe so, regardless if Sligo are drawn back in, I really dont think we will lose in Richmond.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
In a few weeks time we'll be able to know for sure. The other wont have won the league at all. It'll be because his rival is a bottler.
It's all about the next game and that just happens to be the big duel.
Pats play decent football and as a club have done well, considering they are fated to always be in the shadow of the great Shamrock Rovers club. It's just the way of things I suppose.
It could be too early for Dundalk, no big deal, the pressure and expectation is all on Pats. This season is just a preamble to the 5 year plan for Dundalk. It will be a bonus to pick up the league trophy along the way. It does appear that Pats are wobbling under the pressure, dropping points left, right and centre.
I really wish people would stop talking about us being drawn back into it.
We haven't a hope of winning a league. Have any of you watched us this year? We are cat.
Sligo to retain the title is a long shot, but certainly not impossible
If Pats/Dundalk is a draw and Sligo beat UCD, there would only be 3 points separating them from top spot with 5 games to go - that would certainly put Sligo back into contention, especially with having to play St Pats.
Being "drawn back into it" is a possibility, even if it is unlikely to be successful
I think LOI clubs have learnt that gambling on a Champions League pot of gold is a sure way to bring a club to it's knees. The new owners of Dundalk have been very quiet about the long term plans. As fans, we are interested in hearing what those plans are. The next step is the formation of a supporters club similar to your old Claret & Blue. This will give an idea as to the size of the playing budget.
Renovating Oriel Park is also a hot topic among fans, providing decent away facilities and returning to grass would be high on our wish list
However, everything will be approached cautiously. The club did nearly die last year. It could happen again, if bad decisions are made.
Dundalk have sold out their entire ticket allocation for the St. Pats game on Friday. There will be a lot of dissappointed fans, me included
Due to unprecedented demand – we have sold out of tickets for Friday’s match against St Patrick’s Athletic. This amounts to nearly 1000 tickets sold. We are unsure if further tickets will be made available and will clarify this in due course.

I doubt Pats will turn people away on the night.
