Its on BBC 2 in the UK

Great news, if like me, you are in the UK and can't go to
the game the good news is its on BBC 2 in the UK

I was just checking the TV schedule to see what my chances
of seeing the match (on Sky I assumed) when I say that
Match of the Day was on at 17:45 on BBC, "Oh my God" I though,
it clashes with the England-Wales match which means there will
not me a cat in hells chance of me seeing the match in a pub because
they will all be showing England-Wales.

Anyway I clilcked on the link, and low and behold, it wasn't England-Wales,
it was France-Ireland which will be on

So I will be sitting comfortable at home in the best seat whilst England
fans will be fighting it out in some crappy pub!! (England match is on Sky).

I am really surprised the BBC are showing the whole match, often the
don't even show highlights of Ireland matches (especially if we win and
    England lose!!).

Well done the BBC, mind you I assume they think we will get hammered,
I do hope they are wrong.

Anyway I will record it so I can watch every move. ( I hope it aint in
widescreen though, but I don't really care as long as I can see it).

Well Ingurland or whatever you like to call it, I would imagine
it is on in Wales and Scotland too.

I don't know if it is on terrestrial TV in Ireland though, Sky tend to buy
the Engeland matchs in the UK to force people to subscribe, I don't
know if they do that in ireland (buy the Irish matches), it is probably
not economical because of the smaller population.

Anyway I am really pleased as I don't think the BBC have ever shown
a full Ireland international before, Channel 5 used to show the Ireland
games in the UK, but I live in an area where the reception is pretty
    poor (weak signal, fuzzy picture).

Anyway I am looking forward to it. I notice the under 21's lost
to a late goal, but they were missing some of their top players
so maybe we can do a little better.

    Fingers crossed.

Sky don't have the rights to the England game today......its on BBC1 at 3pm I think - it's a warm-up to the main event that's on at 8

That was pretty good - watched the game on BBC 2 with the sound turned down and RTÉ Radio 1 on instead - Gabriel Egan and Eoin Hand are pretty good commentators (much better than listening to Jonathan Pearce and Lawrenson)
    Kom Igen, FCK...

At least they refer to us as 'Ireland' - the ****s at Sky insist on 'The Republic' - cos clearly there are no other Republics around the world!!!

Plenty of reasons to slam Sky, but referring to you as 'the Republic' is hardly one of them. There's still only one republic in their local catchment area, like...

    Good point for your boys.
