Just saw that.....WTF is going on with people. According to reports, O'Conner declined to comment on the story. If this pans out to be true, which I hope it does not, what ramifications will there be, aside from giving the medal back?![]()
The f*cking horse was doped!![]()
According to reports, O'Connor may have to give back the gold medal because the horse may have been "interfered" with.....http://www.rte.ie/sport/2004/1008/olympics.html

Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.
The horse should face a 2 year ban - ignorance is no excuse in this day and age...Originally Posted by strangeirish

Yeah have to agree with that. Can't let horse off with excuse that he just took what personal vet gave him.Originally Posted by Macy

Can never trust those Germans - Mad into their horse tranquilisers and drug fueled sex parties - ever see Animal farm?
Who is this guy, Trapper Tony?
Another of his horses has failed a test.

Hope it turns out to be false in the second test for waterford crystal, but i doubt it.i think the medal is gone know no matter what happens know.Obviously your man O'Conner knew the horse was drugged and he was up on the podium blubbing like a baby, fcuking cheat.![]()
i think the key word here is "performance enhancing" as oppsed to a drug for ordinary medicinal purposes.
he does'nt deny that the horse was given a sedative to help calm the horse while getting a water therapy.
i'd hold fire on condemnation for the minute.
It was still a prohibited substance, presumably for a reason. Could a sedative have helped, or potentially helped, to calm a horse down while jumping? One horse being found is careless, two is just stupid.Originally Posted by the 12 th man

I'm grasping at straws for sn iota of national olympic pride but . . . . . .
Methinks fourth place in that event was an irish lassy who was leading throughout. . . . . .
Maintaining our solitary medal.
When you include Michele Smith in our goal medal winning history at the Olympic games we have easily the biggest failure rate in the world when it comes to dope tests in contrast to actual gold medals won!.
Oh yeah and another barking rave irish nutter stopped a clean Brazilian from winning the marathon.
cian has come out and denied vehemently that both horses were in fact.....
.............DRUG MULES ..........![]()

The need for clarity and calm is clear so...
BAN THE DRUG CHEAT (if the B sample tests positive)
I'm sick of the behaviour of the likes of Avril Doyle MEP who are giving out about the media coverage. Athletes in all disciplines of sports that are signed up to the WADA code (which includes ALL Olympic sports) are given lists of drugs how to find in MIMs books, websites which show substances which even contain substances. And to top that all off in many cases you can sign a form in advance of taking a drug for medicinal purposes citing that you will test positive for it but that it hasn't been used in a performance enhancing capacity (even though by virtue of the fact that it is clearing up an illness it is enhancing performance).
I'm not normally this passionate but we are awful at condemning our own when they are caught cheating, we immediately leap to their defence assuming innocence when there is often incontrovertible evidence that they are guilty.
Drug cheating is wrong and we must impose a zero tolerance policy. Now I bet you never thought you'd hear me use such a radical term.

I blame all the money that horses now have. In this instance Waterford Crystal was obviously having the life of O'Reilly.God be with the days when our international horses had to settle for hay and mash, now its reefers and hash. They have gone from loose boxes to loose fillies and horse boxes to executive travel. It is so sad for the poor humans who have been taken for a ride by these animals. Avril Doyle god love your innocence. Since when does a horse make an ass of a human?

it proves how society has changed, the olympics had been portrayed as the bastion of all that is high and mighty, now its a sesspit of doping scandals, dodgey money dealings and god knows what else.
j'accuse!
