On paper we should be beating Bohs but as they showed in our earlier game in Richmond, nothing is guaranteed.
I do believe if we win on Friday and Tuesday that we will win the league.
PD games all on Friday
Cork v Derry
Shels v Rovers
UCD v DLK
Pats v Bohs
Drogs v Bray
PD Sat
Sligo v Limerick
Re-arranged games PD Tues
Derry v Pats
Drogs v Sligo
Although the Tuesday games are standing out, I have a feeling there might be a few twists on Friday night and one or two surprise results might occur.
FD games on Friday
Waterford v Longford
Athlone v Wexford
Salthill v Mervue
Saturday
Cobh v Finn Harps

Here on a technicality.
On paper we are goosed tomorrow.
Can only see a draw from our game but with Des Hope possibly out for us we could be in big trouble. Hoping TC will surprise a few (including waterford) with his selection this weekend.

Pick of the First Division games.......really? That's a bit harsh.
https://kesslereffect.bandcamp.com/album/kepler - New music. It's not that bad.
Daniel McDonnell can have some strange observations when commenting on Shamrock Rovers. In the match previews in today's Indo he says
"If Rovers don't get a move on, then they are going to have to win the FAI Cup to get into Europe"
So with Rovers having 8 games left and 9 points behind 4th place Derry, who have a game in hand, he thinks Euro qualification through the league is still a possibility?
As Rovers know all too well even 4th place in the league is no guarantee of Europe
You sound very confident. While winning both will defintely put you firmly in the driving seat, I would be waiting until at least after the home games v Dundalk (20/09) and Sligo (12/10) before even thinking this way.
Could be a lot of twists yet, and no reason Sligo can't force their way back into it either.

Happy with that, 4 passed Derry will do nicely, Morrissey is a gift to be fair.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Bring on the Drogs next week in OP
Long Live King Kenny
A 17 f***in point swing to Athlone now. Cousins is history. Should just pay him off now and get a new man in. He's been given every chance.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
Well, he did say if...and here's another one. If we win in the Brandywell on Tuesday (and there's no reason why we can't) a lot of the damage from tonight will be undone. There's still a distance to go, so I wouldn't be getting over excited yet. Tonight was frustrating, but Derby games can be like that, as you may well discover next week Anyhow, the 20th of September is looking like it's going to be some night!!
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.
You are right. There is a long way to go and I expect a few more surprises.
That is why PartySaints post came as such a surprise. We have a difficult game against Drogheda next week. They are starting to produce the form and results they are capable of.
Nothing is won or lost yet, and it won't be for a good while.
Bizarre sending off in UCD v Dundalk which mayn't have changed the outcome of the game, but certainly made things more straightforward for Dundalk. Be interesting if anyone can shed any light -
We had a sub lined up for the next stoppage. Mick Leahy went down injured in a challenge; ball came to our keeper, and he threw it out to let attention for Leahy come on. We made the first sub, but as that was being done, Leahy signalled to the bench that he couldn't continue, so Mick Kelly immediately togged out, a second slip of paper was given to the fourth official, Leahy went off, Kelly came on...and was booked for encroaching the field of play. I think the ref deemed that as Dundalk had taken their throw after the first sub, the second sub couldn't take place until the ball went out of play again. Why he couldn't have told Dundalk to wait until the two subs - which were clearly going to happen - had taken place, I don't know. Farcical one way or the other.
Anyways, five minutes later, Kelly got sent off for a (silly) challenge, Dundalk took the lead a few minutes later again and there was no way back for us.
Now Tony, you know he was being cocky in his comment that he thought Pats 'will win the league' if they won those 2 games. Really strange thing to say with 8 games to go.
Pats 'possibly' still best placed, but its getting interesting now as i think we will push it to the last weekend, and not forgetting Sligo are still not too far behind.
