Tommy Dunne had a year and about a third left on his contract so that'll need paying. Plus the lower crowds due to his teams 'performances'. Must take a toll on the coffers.

Our best option will be to take advantage of Ashtons knowledge of the youth side by blooding in more young players like Morrissey who got a hattrick the other night, and tying the best ones down to contracts.

No comments on this evenings games yet?

Arguably one of the biggest 2 matches so far, you would think Sligo really do have to win.

Also it will be interesting to see Derry's response to last Friday.

Yep, we have to win, but that'll be pretty much the case for the remainder of the season - and we'll still need you and Pats to stumble.
Derry look to have crumbled - desperately hoping they prove me wrong tonight, although it won't matter if we don't do the biz.

Pat's 1-0 up after only three minutes through a Killian Brennan free-kick.

Literally just switched on Setanta and the first thing I heard was Felix complaining about the Derry keeper kicking it long and it being a 70-50 ball.

Thought Derry were unfortunate with the free - very soft - but they've been like rabbits in the headlights ever since. Going to get whipped here if they don't get the ball down and hold a bit of possession.

Another poor home performance by Derry. Pat's were very dominant in spite of the final 1-0 scoreline.

At least Derry gave it a go in the second half. Pats seem to run out of steam in the second half of games.

Is it too early to consider Sligo out of title race now?

Not out of it yet, but certainly very long shots now.
Would need some unlikely results to come together, including beating Pats in Richmond.

The positive from tonight for Sligo (and Dundalk & Pats) is that euro qualification is closer to be secured.

Shamrock Rovers will be delighted with those results tonight.

We're out of it. Two horse race.

Played very well in patches tonight but still not good enough. Drogs could easily have won it at the end when they were catching us on the break. Very small crowd.

It's been a 2 horse race since they lost in Oriel.

Delighted with our win tonight, it was a bit of a repeat of Friday night, great in the first half but slowed up in the second although we were comfortable throughout.

Our game against Dundalk on the 20th could see the biggest league crowd in Inchicore in the last 14 years.
    Here on a technicality.

It's at least the third match in a row where Pats play in their away blue kit. One of them was at home and another against a green and white team. Did somebody spoil the red shirts while washing?

I wouldn't say it was a 2 horse race since Oriel but last night was always going to be a huge night for us. If we had won and Pats drawn as opposed to the other way around we would have been 3 points behind both teams. Still haven't been playing well enough at all to win it this year.

Key now is to hold onto third place.
Anything less than that would be a disaster no matter what way people might try to dress it up.
