    Sligo (A) 31-08-13

    Anyone heading up?

We're missing a few, Shaun Kelly is suspended, Tracy is definitely out. O'Callaghan, Costelloe, Purcell are all doubtful so leaves us very light at the back.

I'm not expecting anything from this game with the run of form we've been on. Would like a decent performance though.

I believe there are a few decent defenders in the U19s. Why wont Taylor give them a run out, cant be any worse than what we have a the minute.

Who would you bring in from the 19s?
The ball is round and has many surprises.

I don't know any of the 19's myself so hard to tell who'd be up to being thrown into the next few, which are going to be the toughest few, fixtures we have.

Would be nice to get a decent performance alright but I feel we are facing into a very difficult period.

Tony Whitehead maybe? Has the height and build to play at centre half. Seemed a bit of hype around him last year but never heard anymore of it.
We'll have a young bench anyway Saturday night.
I would think he'll probably risk either O'Callaghan or Purcell, just because he has no other options, it's either that or stick with Nzuzi, Folan, Williams, Murphy(?) maybe even Gamble at right back?!
Christ, I'm clutching at straws here...

Murphy, Nzuzi, Folan, Willams wouldn't be the worst defence. O'Leary can play right full too but then we are down a central midfielder.

They are describing Everton at the moment on sky sports and it sounds like they are talking about ourselves. Passing, passing, passing but all in their own half. No mixing it up enough when needs be.

New signing Sam Oji straight in tonight. He's a centre back.

Solid enough. Vastly better than Folan.

That's good to hear. To be honest I just think Folan needs a bit of guidance. At 21 he still has great potential and the few years out through injury have probably hindered his progress.

Danny North out-paced him at one point, that should never happen to any footballer.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

Well, in fairness, that was probably his first match for the best part of four months.
    Fight the good fight!

Don't think he has played a game in four months. With all the injuries and suspensions we didn't have much of a choice but to throw him in straight away after only a few trainings.

I think you're a bit harsh on North there. While he's well overweight he still has a good turn of pace.

We are on one slippery slope, our next 3 games are against top opposition,if the bottom 2 pick up a few wins we will be in trouble.

Ya the big games are going to be Bray away, Bohs at home and Shels at home. Anything else we can pick up over the next two weeks will be a bonus.
