I fear what Dundalk are going to do to us in the cup we were pathetic tonight.
Another poor home result for Derry. Disappointing.

Looking like athlone will be coming up, would be a good addition to the league. Would be great to have longford up aswell.
Always thought there were too many Dublin clubs. Didn't think we'd revisit 2005, but hey, we might get a new board ...
Is the FAI ruling that bray cant be relegated still in force?
Athlone got Enda Curran from Salthill, and it is true that there is some potential there and I am glad that he is playing under a good manager. I was at the game tonight (missed 30m as I also had to go to a gaa match) but it was it nonstop action for the hour I saw. Good Athlone support there as well and they must have enjoyed their night, but if Mervue had scored their 2nd peno it could have been a costly bit of silly behavior by their keeper.
It was a terrific game.
Dundalk started very well and got a great goal.
Sligo then reacted as you would expect from the champions, they pegged Dundalk back for 20 minutes at the end of the half. I don't know how they didn't score.
Kenny then changed tactics at half time and it was Dundalk's turn to put Sligo under the kosh. Once Dundalk got the second goal, it was aerial bombardment time from Sligo. Dundalk just ate up all the balls that were pinged forward.
Once again, Dundalk finished the game fittest. Sligo were dead on their feet in the last 10 minutes. Dundalk could, and should, have scored another couple of goals.
Fantastic atmosphere in Oriel park tonight and I believe that every one of the 3,000 or so there were delighted with the Dundalk performance and its the perfect advertisement for our next match next Friday against limerick in the cup.
in relation to the pats match there is a lot of football to be played before then and we need to concentrate on them before we face pats.
Kenny made a masterstroke in the second half by bringing on chris shields for john Dillon. Dillon can be frustrating and slow at times. Shields got stuck in the middle, allowed towel and O'Donnell to push forward and balanced us on the wings with Meehan and Byrne supporting Hoban. shields fully deserved his goal too for the effort he put in.
but lads make sure you catch MNS on Monday for Hobans goal. Fantastic overhead kick.
sometimes I need to pinch myself were we are but when you have a man like Kenny at the helm and you let him do his job then you reap the rewards I believe
Long Live King Kenny
Another powerhouse performance from Dundalk tonight.
Ritchie Towell got the MOTM from local media tonight, but it could easily have gone to any of the usual suspects - Dane Massey, Stephen O'Donnell or Pat Hoban.
Sligo had their moments tonight and were unlucky not to get a goal back at 2-0 when hitting the post. But apart from the last 15 minutes of the first half, Sligo were outplayed and overwhelmed.
In the first three match of Series One, Dundalk collected 4 points, in Series Two in rose to 6 points, and in this final series 9 points have been bagged. This team shows no sign of letting up and is a credit to Stephen Kenny
Depressing from us tonight. Absolutely brutal.
We're gonna catch the Rovers.

Note to Rovers board
Do Limerick regret not even considering Roddy Collins for their managers job ?
Also the decision by the Shamrock R club to sack Kenny is looking more stupid as the season goes on. As an outsider it seem to me that a certain number of the players he had last season did not want to play for him. But due to the nature of transfer system we have now (and small pool of players available for a LoI manager) his hands were tied until the end of the year.
