Kildare hunt continues
Kildare County are still poised to strike should any of the top three in the first division slip up. Last night they made light work of beating Dundalk 3-0 in Newbridge.
Chris Bennion did well in the Dundalk goal to keep Kildare out in the first half. He saved well to deny Sean Francis in the opening ten minutes and the former Longford player was just off target minutes later. Ray Scully had an effort just go over and touching the crossbar.
It was a former Dundalk star, Martin Reilly who broke the deadlock in the 55th minute. A good move saw Shane Harte send in a cross and Reilly headed home.
Kildare were 2-0 up on 64 minutes, Barry O'Connor picked out Francis and the striker lobbed the stranded Bennion.
