I was at the Carrig Shannonside game and from what I could see shannonside had eleven players on the field at all times and even made a substitution at half time. Any truth in the rumours that Tony Quaid is heading back to Newcastle?
Last man back - teams are thrown out of league after three walkovers. Was at Newcastle West v Athea Utd game today where the home side got a flattering 3-0 win, West keeper Tommy Quinn was outstanding with at least 4 top drawer saves, Athea had as much possession as the hosts but two goals in as many minutes late in the second half turned the game in favour of West

"I always used to put my right boot on first, and then obviously my right sock" - Barry Venison
I was also at the carrig match and shannonside definitely had 11 on the pitch along with a few subs. Great win for carrig who were missing a couple of their best players.
Good result for Carrig Celtic so if shannonside had 11 starting. Quaid would hardly leave the city league already would he?
I've only seen tony quaid twice with the boro, great temperament on the ball. Looks very comfortable at that level.
But worringly for the young lad, with boro chasing the game for long periods(Carew away and Fairview home) they were very hesitant to introduce him. Maybe he's had enough already, boro ain't going to win the league now

Any1 got the fixtures for the Munster Junior ???
Fairly ironic that you're asking considering the username!!
You're right on what happens - all teams given 6 points - happened a few times in Div 3 last yr 3 teams folded
Are Ballybrown still in the hurling?!?!
I'm sure the League would prefer Breska to give a W/O next weekend and then everyone will get 6 points and know where they stand
Worst thing would be if they get hurlers back win a few matches and then at the end of season give another W/O when the hurling starts again
It'd make a f*ck of the division as all the teams they'd beaten would have to get those points back
I think something needs to be done about all these walkovers. It can potentially cost a team the league title or cause a team to be relegated. Would introducing big fines help to prevent this and make teams think twice about not showing up for games and try harder to get a team together. Points deductions don't really seem to deter them.

Rathkeale Broadford obviously the stand out fixture and they are also meeting in the FAI this weekend i think this weekend will c how good both teams are
I dont know if fines would make a difference mad4it - if they give a couple W/O's and get thrown out they aren't going to pay a fine regardless
Its not something that normally happens at the start of the season really - usually its the last 3 games where teams have nothing to play for and GAA has started back
At this stage you'd think that Breska will likely fold, 2 games 2 W/O's doesnt bode well and they've put a lot of work into facilities over there in recent years
Its a long way back from the bottom division if they do fold!
I thought 3 teams always qualified from the Desmond League for the open draw
You're correct but it's down to 2 this year as the no of teams from the Desmond league who entered is also far fewer than previous seasons. I suppose that finances play a big part in some clubs not entering the competition, but I reckon that 8 clubs didn't enter and it reflects poorly on the league.
