Ollie wants Bohs match called off

In tonights Herald it states that Ollie is appealing to the league to have the Monday night game against Boh's called off as Shel's will have had to play 5 games in 15 days which he says is illegal in the rulebook of the league

Awwwwww, poor Ollie. Never mind, I'm sure the fact that he's been such a kind and loyal helper to every other club in the country will count in his favour, and the FAI will move heaven and earth to accomodate $h€l$...................AGAIN.

tough cheese ollie, ya filthy criminal.

5 Games in 15 Days is tough going for any team ! even though Ollie is the most hated man in irish football i personally think Shels probably deserve a bit of rest bite in this case.

Commence backlash against me for saying that..................

I commend you on your fair and sporting attitude. You're right. Thing is though, ask yourself this: would Ollie move any of shels fixtures if someone else was in this situation? Would he balls. He does whatever to get any tiny advantage he can for his club (nothing wrong with that) often to the detriment of other clubs. So there is NO earthly reason why any other club should help them out.

what odds he wouldn't have asked this at all if they'd beaten Derry last night?

Strange thing is that i agree with you as well but i still 5 games in 15 days is just far to many games to play.

Just looking at their fixture list (dont know if it correct though ?) 2 matches per week until its all over ! When does he want it put back till ? the season is coming to an end and there is'nt much time, wouldnt fancy playing 2 games in the last week of the season for example.

bohs are playing 5 games in 14 days - starting on the 8th of Oct.

So if Bohs are willing surely Ollie hasnt got a case.

I think he's getting a bit worried - would love to see them lose it

One of these five games includes a Uefa Cup mid-week game, surely thats the price of success in the New Professionalism of European football.
Shelbourne have a football team, play the game.

Lille [Thurs], Derry [Mon], Drogs [Fri], Bohs [Mon] and Bohs [Fri] works out at 5 games in 15 days, according to me, Ollie and Pope Gregory. Of course, Dalymount being stuck in a time warp, I can of course appreciate your confusion.

Regarding Shels not changing fixtures for anyone else, just three weeks ago, we agreed to our game with Waaaaterford being brought forward 48 hours, so one of their players could be accommodated at U21 level. It would have been in our interest to refuse, but we didn't [and ended up losing]

Personally, though, I see playing two games a week as part of the price of success, and we should get on with it.

Aye, and given all the bleating about professional football, 2 games a week should be no problem. It only means less fitness training needed, which at this stage of the season, I can't see them doing a lot of anyway. I'd have more sympathy with a part time team, whose players have to get up and go to work everyday as well as play the matches.

I can't remember if it was exactly that, but I do remember in the last week of the season Pats played Friday, Monday, Thursday and Sunday. And guess who was the most vocal person in the country demanding that the games had to be played as scheduled ? So Ollie should be told to flock off now.

    I just checked back:

    Tues 19th March Derry
    Fri 22nd March Rovers
    Mon 25th March Bohs
    Thurs 28th March Dundalk
    Sun 31st March Longford

Five games in thirteen days. At Ollie's very vocal insistence, I might add.
