Bus was cancelled it seems...not enough names...it seems theres a lot of regulars missing this week with work/holidays..
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

We've been having the same problems with buses recently. It's summer football. Simple. It's killing the first division.

It really is, that and Friday night games with such long distances between the clubs in the division.

Dean played well when he came on. Shaw needs to be given a chance to sit on the bench for a while. He's gone to fook lately. It was Shaw who had the penalty claim but from where I was standing it was a dive.... But I thought after the last 2 games against harps when we had 2 clear pens not given we might of got that one. Not many chances although the best 2 fell to us. O'Sullivan tried to round the keeper but keeper stood up well and blocked sully's shot out for a corner. In second half sully had it in the net only for it to be ruled offside but from my view I thought he was onside. A draw was a fair result and with Athlone slipping up at home it wasn't a bad result!

Have to disagree there. Kevin McHugh missed a sitter at the start of the second half.
A draw definitely the fair result. We had more possession but done very little in a threatening manner with it. Neither keeper had to make a save of note.

McHugh very lucky to stay on the pitch as for the second game in a row against us at Finn park he stamped on a Town player lying on the ground. Was that the same effort from mcHugh that went out for a throw in, it went that wide?!! But yeah a draw was a fair result.

Happy enough with the draw considering Athlone slipped up too. Another long trek to Cobh next week. Another tough one but we could use the win.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Draw was a fair result in the end and a point from Finn park giving our record against them lately is always good. We were the better team in the first half but that could also be down to the fact Harps were so poor, they came out a different team in the second half and controlled the game for most of it a part from the last ten minutes when we had a few half chances and a few corners.

On the peno claim, it could have went either way, shaw headed it on and the keeper took him down but from where I was it looked like the ball was long gone before the foul, it was probably more of a peno then the one we got last week but thats not saying much. Other then that Sully had a few half chances but he seemed like he was playing up on his own for most of it as Shaw would always be lagging behind. There were a few suspect offside calls which would have had Sully through on goal, from where I was two of them looked like he had run from behind his man each time but I was up at the other end so not sure. I'd agree taht Shaw could do with a stint on the bench, he seemed very slow last night and when ever a ball was hoofed up it seemed as if it was Sully getting his head to it rather then Shaw. Thought David O'Neill had a great game and O'Brien did well but id still question starting either of them over Purdy or at least not even bringing Purdy on.
Also dont understand why Gillespie was brought on when Hope went down injured instead of McCarthy, from what I could see Keith seemed to be coming on anyway before Hope even down and then Tony just decided to bring him on anyway and switch Quinn to left back..seemed very strange..

My first game of the season and not the most exciting fare but Wizzy made up for that in the 50/50 balls in midfield and no fear in him at all. Very impressed with Harps defensively and in terms of tracking back they were excellent. Met Ian Barraclough the second time this week. First on the flight home and then at the back of the stand. I thought he was looking at the very impressive Finn Harps left back who lived up to all I'd heard and was excellent once again.

I never thought we'd lose that not did I feel we'd win it so a 0-0 was fair enough. Absolute dive by the Longford forward and after that the referee started to look a bit more favourably at the home side and gave a few decisions Harps way.

Firstly, never a penalty. As clear a dive as I've ever seen in Finn Park.

Secondly, Longford can be happy with a point, as a confident McHugh would have easily put away that chance 10 yards from goal. Practically an open net.

Ciaran Gallagher made a world class stop at the feet of O'Sullivan at the start of the second half.

Referee would want to take a good hard look at himself too. Disgraceful performance. A couple of yellow cards that never were.

McHugh very lucky to stay on the pitch after kicking yer man on the ground. Not a stamp, a kick.

I thought it was a relatively entertaining game however. Either side could have nicked it, but a draw was fair enough.
