Oh yes you're right Lobster completely forgot that Gav had been sent off the previous week, he misses a few matches through work commitments too i think. I heard Harty had packed it in, not sure if that's true though

Wonder will he be available dec 1st? I'm sure a lot of clubs would be more than happy to have him

I'm sure a lot of clubs would be more than happy to have him too but if he isn't showing up to matches then he is no good to anybody! Hopefully he will start showing up again for Hibs

Why would they be happy to have a player who says he'll show up then doesn't, not a once off thing either. these sort of comments baffle me.
Wouldnt entertain that sort of thing tbh, but thats why football has gone backwards so much in the last 10 years, because of attitude of both players and managers who put up with it.

Most players are out for a kick about on a Sunday nowadays. the commitment, effort, honesty, dedication, respect etc all gone from the game. I can't understand how players turn up (sometimes) on Tuesday and Thursdays, plod about in training, more interested in laughing about the soaps :-) and the same on a Sunday. Whats the point, go for a game of astro or something or stay at home and play fifa!

managers don't have much choice unless they have a big squad. Its these players who then think there are somebody 'e.g. who will I sign with bla bla'.

the game of football is ruined imo

A old lad I used to work with years ago said that most managers go for a player because of reputation around the town and pay little to no attention to how said players train or apply themselves or even if they want to win.

Long enough story but the point was the players who turn up to training Tuesday and Thursday and stay fresh for Sunday and have the will to win are most often the players who are not the best. But give everything on a Sunday morning.

It's the fight in the dog not the dog in the fight.

Out of interest where does Harty usually play for hibs? Only time I've seen him this year was when he played out on the right

just because he's not interested in playin for hibs at the moment doesn't mean he'll never be interested again.
    he's only 18/19 give him a break.

He usually plays up front or on the right but has also played in the middle of midfield. he's 18 i think, the prime drinking age in Shannon

Its a hard call for a manager. You watch guys who apply themselves correctly but have not got the end product. You watch guy laze about but on a sunday produce the goods. It depends on what the team want to do, win or just play and enjoy it.

A lot of average players applying themselves correctly can do very good for themselves and get into a lot of teams.

I am sure a lot of players have distractions at that age, but once that settles down he may apply himself properly and give football a good go. I am sure hibs would not close the door on him playing with them. From what I hear he has the ability to be good.
