Cheers bayern munchies . I heard same about young squad.. I don't agree though with gunners idea. I think you need a few older stronger lads in there too. Need a ball winner in midfield and a target man up front and a strong centre half who can mix it up if needed. But some talented young lads there who could surprise a few but as you say alot keeping options open didn't steo and Burke play for Shannon town last week too. Can't understand why lads don't just decide who they want to play for like the old days

Hopefully they'll do well this year though.

No idea about the Newmarket team at all though, sorry

No idea, maybe a lot of them have lost interest after last season have heard that Gunner wants a young squad aswell and build on that over the next few years. Think Jack Kelly and James Harty were just away that day too and will be signing
Yeah those were our 3 subs on Saturday alright and Yeah Jack Kelly had a Gaa match and Think Harty was away, Quirkey and Davey Wall were missing from the players who were at training during the week as well but as you say plenty players training with two or three teams keeping their options open so you wont know until the forms are out and signed

heard davy wall not signing only wants to train to keep fit .. darren whelan ., bj , pa devanney . gav o donnell , jamie egan all young enough so why are they not involved this year seems crazy to let players leave before you even know who is going to sign for new season

Darren Whelan and Gav O'Donnell were both down training once, BJ and Pa Devanney both off to Olimpic B from what im told and Jamie Egan to Fairview i think.

Have to agree with Shuffleruns wouldn't say it's a big step up at all, particularly for them players!

Christ on a bike. What is going on at these clubs. Lads keeping their options open? Playing for different teams to see what it's like? Managers are worse for accepting it. What a load of rubbish. You wonder why there will be no success in Shannon football for the foreseeable future? That's it in a nutshell. Average players with no passion swanning around to other clubs trying to massage their egos. I applaud any any manager who won't accept it.
As for Shannon hibs and the youth approach. Looking at the teams in 1a this season it's the wrong time to have a weak spine to the team. Shannon town build a strong powerful side and add in the footballers. Hibs go for over haul and make too many changes too soon.
Having young lads is fine but I wonder now that most of them are at the age will they be going to college and finding the drink interest could soon be down the drain if they have a bad start.

can only comment on last years teams not much between hibs a & town a still a tough call as hibs were terrible in premier league and town were very disappointing in 1a after just missing out on promotion to premier the year before I suppose any of the Shannon teams can claim the title of best if they win this years Wesley webb
