    From Neil O'Riordan on twitter:
@noriordan: See @IrishSunSport for news on how Anthony Elding could be @LimerickFCie bound if @sligorovers tie up signing of Eamon Zayed...
    Thoughts?

He is what we need ie a goalscorer but it has dried up a bit for him, offers nothing else around the pitch (wouldn't bother me if he was scoring) and his disciplinary record has been poor recently. Last thing we need is another players picking up needless reds.

Would prefer to go direct for Zayed but money most likely the issue there.

He would be worthless if left isolated the way our strikers have been this season.

I'd agree with that. We're the wrong team for him playing the wrong system for him. It'd only magnify the problems that are already there with the style of play.

I'd like to see a plan B brought in during the window. Although Taylor seems reluctant to change the game plan.

think we have done great overall, remember we just came up after a very long time and the new manager had to move quickly. We're missing a piece or two but I like the style of play and with the right additions it could be great. Hope we don't sign Elding.
Would like to keep Curran too, he was impressive up until he got the face injury.

would not have a problem with elding signing if taylor shaped the team to his strengths, hard to see that happening.curran cant be faulted for effort but he does not score goals and even with a different team shape i am yet to be convinced he would.taylor has work to do and should be given the time to do it however imo his next few signings if any ,need to be fruitfull and he needs a rethink on having a different plan of shaping the team when plan A is failing which it has done on many occassions this season,is pat o sullivan going to be satisfied with finishing 8 or 9th having pumped in all that money?...maybe...

Only Pat would be able to answer that.
If it was my money, I wouldn't. There's a good budget there when you look at the amount of guys who've come in from the UK and hear how well they are looked after.
Of course he should be given time, but if things don't improve after the window, then questions will start to be asked.

I'm sure he could be an important source of extra revenue, but what he can do on a football pitch might be another matter.

hopefully. in fairness you would hope LoI premier would be a better option than Conference for a player.

Well, having read some of the other articles on that site about the club, Chester's gate receipts would be similar to Limerick's (similar enough attendances).
But Chester is a fans-owned club, so the only other source of income is from sponsorship/commercial sales, tv money, merchandise sales and other fundraising events. This is the limiting factor in its budget.
Limerick's budget, being a privately owned club, is dependent on how much the board wants to subsidise its activities. At the moment, the chairman is the only one subsidising the club's activities. So it is he who ultimately decides whether Limerick can offer full time contracts or not and at what level.

    Interesting articles:

Also, interesting to note that this paper has a dedicated section for Chester FC news.
    Fight the good fight!

    Mark McGrath from Fairview.

David O Sullivan with Longford might be worth a move for if we could get him. I know its the first division but he has a knack for hitting the back of the net at the moment, 14 goals this season.

Great to see the lads been given a chance, clarke, tierney and colbert are the only 3 i can honestly see as been good enough to make an impact. Shane clarke might just be the man thats needed with the small amount of goals been scored so far, he is a natural finisher and a local lad...win win situation to sign him. No transfer fee involved and it will be good for the image of the club. Colbert and tierney would also be very good signings IMO but Clarke is the obvious 1 for me

Out of all of them, I would only take Clarke and Tierney,
No point signing a centre mid when they're not going to play. Full back is covered mostly. Dermot Fitz? Maybe, but again, I don't think he'll play. Hughes and Boyle struggled in the First Division.
They're all good players, and no disrespect to them, but I don't see any benefit in signing them for the bench.
I think Clarke and Tierney are the only ones worth seriously looking at.
    Just my opinion though.
A player on trial from the UK at the minute, no idea what his name is.

Colbert? Definitely has what it takes - fitness, technical ability, game intelligence. Nobody else IMO. Clarke is too lazy, Tierney has a handy one in Pike, Grant won't sacrifice the drink for it. Jason Hughes and Dermot Fitz look like they want it but does the manager fancy them with other options at centre mid and surely other players to come in at centre back?
    Ha?
