Hi,
Does anyone know anything about this lad??

Seems to play for NI but according to his twitter....https://twitter.com/clavery13/status/211993926134009857

No Somos muchos pero estamos locos.
I think most here would be aware of him. He's been mentioned in the eligibility thread a few times. I don't think that's actually him in the photograph, mind.
His Wiki says he played for Canada at under-17 level. If that was competitive and if his later appearances for NI were also competitive, then he's already effected one switch of association afforded to him by the regulations and would no longer be eligible to play for us. I've no idea if any of the games he would have played for either Canada or NI have been competitive, however.
Looks like it was only friendlies for Canada
"Before Lavery's move to England he played for Canada U-17 in warm-up games in preparation to qualifiers for the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup"
Looks like it alright.
This article would suggest he only represented Canada in non-competitive "exhibition" games: http://www.reddeeradvocate.com/sport...or_Canada.html
How do you pronounce his first name? And does he say Aboot instead of about?
No Somos muchos pero estamos locos.
He sounds like some sort of bowel disease!!
If it's the lad on the left the north are welcome to him
Bring Back Belfast Celtic F.C.
This is Lavery:
I'd be pretty sure neither of the two in the photo are him.
My bad if so![]()

Ha, well, I'd still imagine he's a fan, given the fairly blatant clues in the tweet. The guy on the right seems to be a family relation, assuming he's the one called "gaelan". His Twitter profile photo sees him standing proudly outside Lavery's pub in Belfast. The time, 2:31AM on the 11th of June last year, would suggest they'd been up watching the opening game of our Euro 2012 campaign. To still be celebrating at that hour though, they must have forgotten the scoreline with all that booze!
Just read today that Lavery is in the current NI senior squad, although he didn't play yesterday against Qatar.
I just saw on SSN that NI haven't won a non-competitive game since 2008. I'd rather be in their qualification shoes right now though!
He's totally committed to the Nordies:

Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.
I think people will have to start accepting that less Northern Irish players are going to declare for Ireland. We seem have been scared off approaching them. The North are being very aggressive about retaining any players who would have notions about playing for The South, even though they are completely within their rights to do so (play for us). I think we should be maintaining a policy of approaching receptive NI players and giving them our sales pitch.
