    Roy and Paris

I think the game in Paris is gonna be a massive massive game for Keane and its gonna define his decision to come back for years to come. Without him we should be capable of dispensing with the lesser teams in the group, its for games like this and Basle that we needed Roy back. He's already let one opportunity to validate his decision to come back with a lacklustre display in Basle and a repeat display in Paris will undoubtedly lead the anti-Roy camp to slate him for coming back and Kerr for bringing him back. Personally I think he'll rise to the challenge, he's coming to the end now and they're aren't gonna be many more big games like this for him-just the sort of game for him to prove the critics wrong again.

I'm not anti Keane but if he doesnt produce the goods in paris then there is little point in bothering with him again. His main selling point is that he is meant to be a great midfielder and can inspire the irish team. There was none of that in basel and if he was subtituted no-one would have noticed.

Kerr should experiment with an alternative midfield in November if he can get a chance.

What do you think he was doing the whole time Keane was out!?
Keane is still the best we've got.

If this was a new player on the scene we'd all be calling him a quality holding midfielder. People have to forget the old box-to-box Keane, the new Keane won't be doing anywhere near as much running and that is what the holding role is all about.

Robbie was poor in Basle and at Landsdowne, I think we should despense with him and concentrate on Stephion Elliot upfront. It is no good having a players who iso ur top scorer not playing well so he should retire now

What we need is Colin Healy, But unfornately hes not gonna be around for a while but i think if he does get fit and hes bad luck does end hes the new Roy Keane. Hes a quality player and in the few gamews he has played he was superb reminds me of keane alot. Lets just hope hes not another Keith O Neil

Good point, Keane is not the player he once was but he is still a very important player for us. His presence alone should instill confidence through the team and that's going to be vital if we are to get anything over there.

    Wink Roy's job in Paris...

....is to kick as many French players into the air as possible before getting sent off - he'll enjoy the Arsenal ones most. We can do without him for the 2 games following Paris.

Isn't he on a yellow? Another for a "mistimed" tackle would see him out of the Faroes game, no great loss for that game and it'd keep Ferguson happy too.

    Healy...you must be joking...

    Hey Owl Man,
excuse my poor sense of humour but you were cracking a joke when you said that Colin Healy is the new Roy Keane? Healy ran around Basle last year like a fish out of water...its ok to play second rate players against second rate teams...but the proof was in the pudding and he wasn't good enough. A 50 year old keane is better than Healy ever will be.

You have to remember that Keano is past his best. comparing Healy and the likes to him is unfair. There can be no comparisons. Keane still has a job to do and will do it to the best of his ability. The Basel performance was down to lack of match practice and won't be repeated in Paris.

Isn't it three bookings for a ban?

FYI - His Roy-al Keaness' wife have birth to a baby daughter yesterday, their 5th child. Maybe that will put him in a good mood. Or not.
