with the exception of his cap john won every trophy bar an fai with pike a long time ago, so i could never figure out why he left in the first place
I've heard it said that John prefers a more advanced role. He played the majority of the first half of last season behind Jonathan Grant at Carew. The promise of that may have been enough to attract him there in the first place (remember he was often playing at right full during his most recent season at Pike). His move back to midfield role (usually on the right) upon the arrival of Connery, may have frustrated him slightly.
Where was he fielded for Pike in the friendly over the weekend?

The reason he signed with carew was he was great friends with the manager and he said he wanted to play on the same team as his brother.
If he has in fact signed for 2 clubs and both forms are registered he faces a 3 month suspension. I'm sure Pike won't register his form without checking he hasn't been registered by Carew.
