PREVIEW Harps bid to bounce back

PREVIEW Harps bid to bounce back

    October 2, 2004

Promotion-hunting Finn Harps, who saw their 17-match unbeaten run ended by top-of-the-table rivals UCD last week, go in search of a quick redemption when they visit Limerick FC in this afternoon’s early kick-off (Saturday, 2.30pm).

Harps had compiled a stunning run of results to climb to the top of the table, but they were knocked

Talking Harps bid to bounce back

According to match reports ye are leading after 23 minutes.
Badly needed points for your team if it stays that way. And I hope ye avoid re-election, because in spite of your league position you are far from the worst team to play in Belfield Park this season. That honour goes to Galway United Played 2 Lost 2 Goals for ZERO goals against SEVEN

Great result from a UCD Viewpoint too as well. And with Waterford United having made the Cup Final ( I hate Derry City as a team, Bosman Rule etc) and I have little time for the current vintage at United Park ( Mouthy manager who was a disaster at Belfield last season), I would love to see Waterford win the Cup and a secure future for senior football in Limerick. So we can play you again in the Premier in a few seasons and take all the available points

McHugh milestone helps Harps to win

McHugh milestone helps Harps to win

Finn Harps maintained their grip on second place in the first division yesterday afternoon with a 4-1 win in Limerick.
Despite dominating the early going, Harps fell behind midway through the first half. A quick break down the wing and Conor Molan headed home unchallenged from the cross. The goal gave the home side a huge boost and they could have added to their lead before the break.

Harps' pressure after the break finally paid off on 55 minutes when Kevin McHugh levelled. McHugh's goal beat Healy in the Limerick goal with the help of a deflection but there was no hint of luck about Harps and McHugh's second.
