    Republic of Ireland V Georgia - Sunday, 2nd June, 2013 - Friendly

First of all, what sort of time and day is a Sunday afternoon/early evening for an international game? I've been so busy of late, it only dawned on me last week that this game was actually on a Sunday.

Anyway, Dunne will be given game-time. Whether that'll be from the outset remains to be seen, but Trap has confirmed he'll definitely bring him on at some point if he's not in the starting line-up. Wilson, who's been suffering from a calf problem, is also going to be given a chance to prove his fitness for the Faroes game.

In what is surely a major shock, Whelan is set to be rested, whilst Randolph and Westwood are also likely to feature, according to RTÉ: http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/inter...eorgia-return/

RTÉ also seem to think Hoolahan will be given the nod in midfield, but they may well be getting ahead of themselves; Trap was as ambiguous as ever in answering questions relating to Wes.

[Whelan's absence] will leave at least one vacancy in midfield with Trapattoni indicating he will make changes, and that could mean a rare opportunity for Norwich's Wes Hoolahan, who was among the unused substitutes at Wembley.

Many commentators have repeatedly bemoaned the manager's reluctance to give the 31-year-old a run in the team, but he revealed he is considering him as an option for this weekend.

Asked if he would be involved, Trapattoni said: "I have to think again. Probably, yes, probably.

"But we have to think again because we have also [Jeff] Hendrick. Whelan will have a rest because it's important for Whelan to have a rest before the Faroes at this moment. He has had a very tough season.

"But Wes could be, sure, one of the two midfielders. Could be."

With Whelan it could be a case of you don't know what you've got till it's gone

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got til it's gone
They dropped Glenn Whelan and put in a new midfield.

( I'm not ****ed enough to do the rest of the song!! )

Also I don't think Hoolahan usually plays in midfield, he normally plays in front of it behind he striker.

So you would have to drop Robbie or Long and then you could play Hendrick in midfield.

True, but now you're talking modern football; Trap is not aware of such a role...

I think Trap just does the could be stuff, to keep the media on side so no one starts creating agendas before games. He never has any intention really does he? Even if he did give him a run in Sweden!

Ah, that's annoying. Was looking forward to seeing him get a bit more game time.

Forget Georgia. Something Happens (with a good midfield).

Just can't get excited about this one... I wish they were playing the state of Georgia rather than the Nation of Georgia.

Cliff Richard is rehearsing for his world tour in Dublin at the mo... perhaps he could be invited to the match to entertain a la Wimbledon a few years ago

Had to google that one. Looks like the NY Jets head coach.
I was thinking more about Bonnie Shells first ever concert, a smokey night out with his friends sister Deb, at:

Interesting line up. Anything could happen.

The way that back 4 reads it looks like Wilson at RB and Delaney at LB but I wouldn't be surprised if they lined up with McShane at RB, Wilson at LB and Keogh and Delaney in the middle.

What a shame Brady is injured. I like Andy Keogh but he's awful wide right.

I agree with Stutts, Trap is not doing Andy any favours if he is to play out wide.
