    PFAI propose mid-season break

    PFAI propose mid-season break

The PFAI have published results of a survey taken in September. The survey was sent to 350 eircom League players and the main topic in the poll was to find out if players wanted a mid-season break.

A mid season break? We struggle to finish the league on time as it is, and in the middle of july too, rendering our summer football advantage pretty useless. I do agree though that a break during major tournaments is a good idea, but not on the seasons where there's none.

    Great idea

Now everyone can have a mid season break like the one which was forced on CCFC recently, even though they were forced to play 3 games in 8 days earlier.

    What a stupid league.

Brilliant. Let's all take survey of the general population asking 'who'd like to get paid more' or ' who'd like to work less...'.

Slightly flippant, I know, but what did you really expect the result to be....?

    Hardly a surprise...

This season seems to be endless maybe its that fact that city are not in the shake up but the only advantage to a summer break is for footballer with families who want to take holidays with their kids.

One stat says it all, "would you be prepared to go without pay for these three weeks?" Majority answer was no, very hard for all clubs to pay three weeks wages with no gates. It won't happen.

Mid season break? The whole idea of summer football was so we could play throughout the months of June and July, so by having such a break would sort of knock the whole idea on the head. Besides, with 3 fewer league games in the premier next season it won't seem like such a long haul for the players.
