Brilliant! I can't go myself so at least I'll get to listen in but I hope they aren't too biased

Very tight match just shaded by the Youths in Ferrycarrig tonight in match of very few chances. On a dry fluffy pitch where the ball didn't seem to run cleanly, the Youth's extra energy round the pitch managed to keep them in the ascendancy even when they went down to ten. Youths started with Graham,Craig, Gary, Jamie, Jimmy, Crokey, Shane, Brian, Eric, Rocks and with Joey up front. Harps, with better technique, started the better and had two early corners but conceded frees at both. Wexford's first attempt on goal came after eleven when Joey had an effort about a yard wide. On fifteen, Wexford were caught square on a through-ball, and the ball was passed inside to give McCarron a tap into the empty net for 1-0 to the away side. Wexford responded well and, a minute later, a good cross from Craig down the right wasn't gathered cleanly by Gallagher, and Joey just couldn't manage to steer the ball home. Brian then had an effort narrowly wide and Joey diverted a low cross from the left just beyond the near post.

Just after the half-hour, the first yellow was shown to Brian Nolan for a tackle. With five to go, the Youths were given a lifeline when a Harps defender clambered over Shane just inside the box who had his back to goal, and the ref. pointed to the spot for a penalty. Joey sent it low to the right with Gallagher going the wrong way for 1-1. Last action of the half was a card for Crokey for a tackle. 1-1 at half-time with few enough clear chances for either side and the side scoring first in the second looking to be clear favourites.

Harps started sluggishly enough in the second. After five, Rocks got a yellow for a tackle. With fifteen gone, Shane was picked out by a through ball in the Harps' box, but facing Gallagher he couldn't keep the ball under control and the chance was chance was gone. A few minutes later, another through-ball left Rocks in the clear after the Harps defender slipped, and he drilled it on the volley past Gallagher for 2-1 to the home side. On eighteen, McHugh got a yellow for a pull-back, and McGowan came on for Funston for Harps. Youths still looking comfortable at this stage, but on 28, Crokey jumped into a player too early near the dug-out for an unnecessary second yellow, resulting in the home side going down to ten men. Joey got a yellow for dissent also at this time.

Youths still managed to hold their game together with use of the corner-flags to slow the game down. McVeigh came on for Merritt for Harps and Caolan replaced Shane in the middle for youths. Only late chances for Harps were one free header about a yard wide and a shot from the corner of the box which whistled a foot over to leave Wexford with the three points with a 2-1 final score. In injury time, Corkey came on for Brian who limped off. Best for Wexford were Jamie and Gary who dominated in the air all night at the back, while Rocks, Eric and Joey put in trojan work up front. About 180 at the match.
