Yeah didn't get to it myself but I heard they played well. Malmo manager was in attendance too so hopefully we gave him something to think about.

Cork were presumably poor but we needed a confidence boost at the very least going into Thursday.

Absolutely no reason Irish television shouldn't be picking up this game, especially if the cameras are already there in place.

Another point, there's no real television rights to these qualifying games, so is there possibility of a ustream broadcast from some of the clubs?

Ireland down to 37th in the co-efficient before we kick a ball on Thursday.

That a good win for Bala Town in the Welsh league tonight!

A town of just 2,000 people. Well done to them. It gives Irish teams a bit of hope I suppose.

There is rights, and no, clubs won't show games without getting something out of it (rightly so)

Ask a stupid question, but what have clubs gotten out of it when RTÉ have actually shown games?

Malmö are streaming the Drogheda game via their website but it costs around €11 to watch.

I think Drogheda refused RTE live radio rights for a european game in 06 or 07 because RTE wanted it for free.

And to deter a massive travelling support?

Good luck to them getting any sort of result in the home leg, but regardless of who they played, the record of IL clubs v.seeded sides is v.poor.

Celtic themselves need a good dose of luck to get through to the group stages, almost on a par with what Cliftonville will probably need to even get a draw...

Unfortunately, I have work this evening so won't be able to follow our sides' progress, but best of luck to both Pat's and Drogs. Would be nice to come home to a positive result, or two.

What attendance can Drogheda hope for at Tallaght tonite?
They might bring a few hundred down from Drogland................I suppose if they get 2,000 it will be considered a success!

    What do you think?

Hoping to pop over to watch the Drogheda game this evening if I get home in time. Will be interesting to see what sort of crowd is there, should be a nice evening for it. I think Malmo will be too strong for them and expect a 2-0 win for the away side.

Yes, good luck to both teams. I hope they do the league proud.

It would be great if other football fans from Dublin go see the game. I presume Drogheda are charging a nominal addmission charge to encourage neutrals?

Drogheda have two buses going, so they should have more fans than normal for games in Tallaght. Malmo are bringing about a 100 fans.

Anything over 1,000 will be considered a success.

Feeling very excited to be going to a European tie again. Amazing when you consider where we were 2 seasons ago.
Can't see us getting any sort of result though.
